Mozart-Violin Concerto no 5 in A KV 219 (Complete)
Josef Wolfsthal: violin-The Berlin State Opera Orchestra conducted by Frieder Weissman-1928- 1. Allegro aperto 2. Adagio 3. Rondeau: tempo di menuetto. Josef Wolfsthal died young (1899-1931). It is a pity that there are not many recordings of him, because he belongs to the top of the violinists with his intense and beautiful warm tone.

    I read that when the Hebrew society that wanted him to write this came to him, he originally refused, because he said he only used original themes. Fortunately for us, the themes were so catchy that Sergei did write this overture, much like when Beethoven wrote the Diabelli Variations.

    the larghetto sounds so modern and beautiful. i played through it last night for the first time and couldn’t believe it was written in 1749.

    One of the worst recordings of the Poulenc for me. The piano is hardly heard, which wouldn't had pleased Poulenc. The violin playing is plane, lacks imagination. Either forte or mezzoforte. Same vibrato and same sound color all the time. No delicacy in pp at all. And tempos are boring and conservative. Rest is ok.

    Incredibly Inspirational...clarity, crispness, Dynamic with a soberness which is Bach....as a musician I am blessed to learn from the past to improve my musicianship and Interpretation...thank you....

    • @Fritz_Maisenbacher
      @Fritz_Maisenbacher Před 25 dny

      I never thought that Bach was "sober". Exactly the opposite. Bach is the first romantic, and the first about the romantics. Even more than Schumann or Mahler. The reason because he was able to make all others forgotten, before him and after him until Mozart.

    i can hear the "purists" declaring, aghast: "No, no no, a piano? And at that, a piano using pedal? There's too much vibrato! Obviously they're not using gut strings, and they aren't tuning to 415! It's all sacriligeous and the Baroque gods are displeased!". To these dry, holier-than-thou types I say: Too bad for you. The rest of us love this!

    was there anything more elegant and refined than Gilel's interpretation of this paragon of piano concertos!? Ormandy's sympathetic conducting was a real plus as well! Only if Chopin could have heard this performance what would he have said?

    I must admit I find this performance unnecessarily bombastic. I also find the recorded sound a bit cold - but that is probably to be attributed to the recording equipment of the time.

    ゼルキンのピアノが今一つ冴えないー他人行儀?セルと喧嘩したせいか?セルとゼルキンの双方が音量を上げろとレコード会社に要求したそうですが。ゼルキンのブラームス一番ならすこし前のオーマンディとの演奏の白熱の演奏の方が好きです。録音時期の同じ顔合わせの同曲ライヴは圧倒的名演と思いますが。レコーディングって難しいのでしょうね
