Josef Wolfsthal: violin-The Berlin State Opera Orchestra conducted by Frieder Weissman-1928- 1. Allegro aperto 2. Adagio 3. Rondeau: tempo di menuetto. Josef Wolfsthal died young (1899-1931). It is a pity that there are not many recordings of him, because he belongs to the top of the violinists with his intense and beautiful warm tone.

Where is the declamation?
I read that when the Hebrew society that wanted him to write this came to him, he originally refused, because he said he only used original themes. Fortunately for us, the themes were so catchy that Sergei did write this overture, much like when Beethoven wrote the Diabelli Variations.
Comfort and Grace of this performance are immeasurable and beyond words
the larghetto sounds so modern and beautiful. i played through it last night for the first time and couldn’t believe it was written in 1749.
One of the worst recordings of the Poulenc for me. The piano is hardly heard, which wouldn't had pleased Poulenc. The violin playing is plane, lacks imagination. Either forte or mezzoforte. Same vibrato and same sound color all the time. No delicacy in pp at all. And tempos are boring and conservative. Rest is ok.
Nice. Thank you.
Gorgeous playing!!
Just one word for this magnificent piece, the perfection
Brillante interpretazione! Da un altro mondo!❤Grazie!!!
❤
49:07 this is so emotionnally and intensely perfect, that I could have some doubts about the first place of Schnabel here ..... these moments are so pure .....
I agree it's a wonderful performance
Could AI take out the static in this recording and make it even more perfect?
Had this record as a child. Full fat Vivaldi!
Great interprétation. Yet I prefer the madness of the breathtaking Furtwangler/ Menuhin’s with all its imperfections
The best interpretation of the Chopin PC1. Love it from start to finish.
Beautiful concerto but with weeknesses due to Shumans illness.
"Fantastico!" Conservo con orgoglio questo lp nella mia discoteca". ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 Giuseppe Perego Monza 16.2.1962 Grazie
Incredibly Inspirational...clarity, crispness, Dynamic with a soberness which is Bach....as a musician I am blessed to learn from the past to improve my musicianship and Interpretation...thank you....
I never thought that Bach was "sober". Exactly the opposite. Bach is the first romantic, and the first about the romantics. Even more than Schumann or Mahler. The reason because he was able to make all others forgotten, before him and after him until Mozart.
Dear God, how exquisite is this ❤
How beautiful! Finally, I can hear something different like baroque music from talented violinist. Usually, we hear the main concerts: Tchaikovsky, Mendelson, Beethoven, etc. I love baroque music!!!🎉
Oistrakh sings like a transcendental angel.
Nice.
The Romance is the best ever. Gilels was definitvly the emperor of the piano ❤
Stern ist fantastisch. ❤
Thank you. Leonard Rose was a magnificent cellist. My hero.
Особенно понравилась третья часть. Всё слышно до мельчайших подробностей. Виртозные и лёгкие пассажи, характерный штрих. По стилю очень точно!

Magnífique chanson
i can hear the "purists" declaring, aghast: "No, no no, a piano? And at that, a piano using pedal? There's too much vibrato! Obviously they're not using gut strings, and they aren't tuning to 415! It's all sacriligeous and the Baroque gods are displeased!". To these dry, holier-than-thou types I say: Too bad for you. The rest of us love this!
Such sublime playing. What a joy it must have been for a father and son performing together with such expression!
was there anything more elegant and refined than Gilel's interpretation of this paragon of piano concertos!? Ormandy's sympathetic conducting was a real plus as well! Only if Chopin could have heard this performance what would he have said?

Max Bruch should be rated higher. He has some magnificent works for violin and, on the other hand, is not very well known. I love his violin concertos!
I must admit I find this performance unnecessarily bombastic. I also find the recorded sound a bit cold - but that is probably to be attributed to the recording equipment of the time.
Fabulosa inspiração para os corações humanos
I bought this record fifty years ago and has always been one of the best renditions of this great concerto. Thank you for posting
The lyrical thread that Adolf Busch spins has never been matched by any violinist playing Schubert. He is in communion with the intentions and the fragility of the creator of this eternal music.
Hello, I just subscribed a few minutes ago! Excellent content!! Thank you!! And warm greetings from Miami 🏖 ⛵️
아름답습니다
