I haven't watched the whole reaction yet, because I really needed to get this thought out right at this second. Now, I have seen Hi Ren about my recommendations for quite some time, I think, pretty much ever since it came out. For some reason I never felt the need to check it out, but I finally did a few days ago and have been scouring for reactions since then. Badly struggling with severe mental issues myself on top of being as introverted as can be, these types of videos are how I go about telling and showing myself 'I am not alone'. It's a weird way of leading to it, but it's my weird way of saying thank you, I guess. You touched on the topic of authenticity and I just got to say, at least from what I have seen of you in this very short amount of time, your are so authentic yourself, even pulling your own leg with that cheeky little joke around 10:15. Enough rambling. Very belated happy birthday and keep doing you! Edit: What you said at 16:03... I'm not sure how to put it into words exactly. It's kind of reminiscent of the phrase 'still waters run deep', but with your own twist to it, I really enjoyed that.

Empathy and compassion are strengths that the world needs more of. it appears you have those two characteristics in spades. Never apologize for "feeling" because that is the one things we as "souls having a human experience" separates us from "Angels...and Demons..and Gods" 😉 We are so fortunate to be able to experience this world, and in the timeline of infinity, it is but a blink of an eye. I send my deepest condolence for the loss of your grandmother. I can empathize and sympathize, because at the ripe old age of 52 yrs, I have and continue to deal with loss of those I grew up knowing as adult family members. Keep your head up and feel to heal. Great reaction!!! And great song!! Being there for others is a great thing, but even the best of us 'givers' need things from others as well. Give and take. Being part of others' lives, as they being part of yours, is a beautiful thing that makes us the person we are at any given point in time. Never fear showing emotion...it makes us human. Stoicism only promotes a skewed version of life, which is totally fine in certain aspects of humanity or our lines of work or difficult situations at times, but showing our happiness or sadness or anger can be highly rewarding in and of itself. Keep up the great work!! (PS - Lost my grandpa and grandma [only ones I ever had] in 1996 & 2002 respectively, and my dad in 2018, so I feel ya. Ren's songs bring humanity together like that...)

But then again, it may help you remember that all the pressure you feel to achieve is relative and that you shouldn't forget to be yourself. That'll make people proud, or at least those people that matter to you. I do think Power is one of the best antidotes to Ren's more sombre works. But Sexual Healing is also a more positive duet by these two (on Chinch's channel) that really highlights their vocal capabilities.

Great reaction, thanks 👍❤ As others already said, this song is about how Ren felt after his best friend Joe Hughes ended his own life. It's one of four songs Ren wrote for/about Joe. First one is Freckled Angels (do the live version), than this one, followed by Su!cIde and For Joe. It makes sense to listen to the last two in order. With For Joe it also makes sense to listen to Dominoes first (do the lyric video). If you wanna know more about what happened, check out Ren's autobiographical reading 'Chapter 1' on his RenMakesStuff channel. All the chapters are very personal and emotional videos. Watching/listening to them lets you understand Ren's song even better and they become even more intense.
