I’ll have to check, but you have to modify for the shear pin. Guess I forgot to mention that. I’ve had no vibration issues though.

You’re welcome. I used a dremel and opened it up just a little at a time till the pin barely fit. Seems to be going well so far. Probably about 150-200 hours of use on it at this point already.

I’ll be honest I’m not sure exactly off hand, but not terribly. The CMX frogs are very soft and not too heavy.

The CMX frogs have some pretty wicked hooks, I think it’s me. That’s a great tip for most frogs though I bet! Thanks!

@@PenguinOutdoors Well-I do have a carabiner attached to the other end of the leash and it is clipped to my kayak, of course. The old version of the leash had a shorter length, but the newer version has a longer length. Both types have a coiled tether that can take up slack and act like a shock absorber. I have both old and new attached to my kayak, so in places with a lot of brush, I use the shorter version to prevent it from possibly letting the fish get tangled up by going too deep. czcams.com/video/_Qu8MnOvEbQ/video.html

There are some anglers who teach frog fishing in their videos that count to 8 or 10 seconds just to demonstrate it’s often better to wait longer than rush too quick. I think it’s just a “feel” we all develop with time.

Good to know! Usually I’m guilty of throwing a hook set as soon as they blow up on it. Pure reaction mostly. Trying to make myself wait so a 2 count might be easier.

Yea it’s not even a contest, PWR all day. And the PWR paddles like a dream. I would rather paddle my PWR fully loaded than pedal my loaded PA14. I’ve paddled the PWR a lot actually going into shallow water and stuff and it’s smooth as glass.

You don’t miss the pedals at all? Did you have the 360 PA?

I’ll be honest I’ve had the PWR for a few months now and put a lot of time in the seat. I’ve used the paddle pretty much every time I’ve been out to get a little creative with some spots. And until you brought it up I haven’t thought about the pedal drive once. I can honestly say I do not miss it even a little bit. I bet I used that peddle drive less than a dozen times, give or take. And when it came to getting shallow I always wished I carried a paddle instead but the PA is a nightmare to paddle IMO. The motor changes everything and even if there’s an issue, it’s paddling the PWR for me.

I don’t know the actual specs but it feels like it in an antidotal sense. There’s no flex in the deck when standing and it just feels tougher and more robust.

I pretty much use one knot for everything, with the exception of trying line together where I use a uni knot. I couldn’t tell you what my primary knot is called but I did a short video about it last year. I’m going to say I did it in March, could have been Feb or April. It’s def on my channel though!

I did not, but it all has to mesh together correctly or it won’t seat. Make sure the armature is in the correct direction and make sure the pass through bolts are going through their designated area of the case. Check why make sure you don’t have an old o-ring left on in addition to the new one. Make sure it’s all clean.

Thanks for watching! The beauty of bass is they all bite lures be it a big lake or shallow creek. Fish in a shallow small creek will strike a huge swim bait same as those in a lake or river. Same applies to the Texas rig. In fact the Texas rig is likely to see more strikes in a knee deep stream IMO than in a lake. The hook is a 5/0 VMC worm hook. The stop bead is just a generic cheap bead, they all work the same. Weight is also super cheap generic, I don’t invest money into weights as they get lost so often and all work the same to me.

A great hook style and the traditional way to do it. I strongly prefer the VMC worm hooks, though. That’s what is in the video.

This is my biggest problem. As soon as they hit it I’m like AHHHH and yanking at it. Even when I catch myself and give it a count they still aren’t there 😂😂. Every cast with a frog is like the most tense first date ever.

I’m trying. Sometimes it’s just knee jerk reaction. There’s another short that will come out in week or so from a different day where I counted to 3 before trying to set and still didn’t get em. This CMX frog is very soft and the hooks are sharp so I’m confident it’s me.

​@PenguinOutdoors You will notice they will just hit it and pop it out of their mouths on impact a lot, nothing you can really do they have to really eat it to get em. But it's so fun so keep it going you'll get it.
