We're sorry to learn that you have symptoms you're concerned about, and I imagine this is a worrying time for you. The signs and symptoms of lymphoma are more commonly associated with other, less serious conditions, like an infection, for example. We would suggest to anyone who is worried about symptoms, to contact their doctor to talk these through, and to get advice, so we hope you will feel able to do this, with a view of seeking reassurance. We hope the information is helpful, and that you're able to chat soon with your doctor. We send our best wishes, and hope your symptoms settle down soon.

Very often, why someone has developed lymphoma will be unknown, but we know that it won't be something that you've done, or not done, that has caused this; lifestyle factors are not generally linked to lymphoma. There can be risk factors that can mean someone may go on to develop lymphoma, but the risk is still very small. We have some information on what we do know about the causes of lymphoma, and this can be found here: lymphoma-action.org.uk/about-lymphoma-what-lymphoma/causes-and-risk-factors-lymphoma#otherfactors You'll see this gives details on cell changes that can happen in our bodies. If symptoms persist for more than 2 - 3 weeks, or if you are concerned, we would suggest speaking with a doctor to get them checked out. If testing is required, it usually starts with a blood test to give an overall picture of general health, and further tests may depend on the symptoms, and how you are affected. They can include scans or biopsy. You can read more about symptoms here: lymphoma-action.org.uk/symptoms-of-lymphoma and about tests here: lymphoma-action.org.uk/about-lymphoma/tests-scans-and-staging-lymphoma if you feel this may be helpful. We send our best wishes to you.

I have 3 that I can feel 2 small ones that are less than a inch big and one by my ear but I’ve had them for a few years and no other symptoms but I’m still nervous about them

We're sorry to hear you are experiencing these symptoms, and it sounds understandable you are nervous about them. Lumps and bumps can appear for many reasons, and are more commonly caused by other less serious conditions, or are nothing of concern. However, we would always suggest seeking medical advice if symptoms do not go away within 2 - 3 weeks, or if you are concerned. You may wish to read our information here about symptoms: lymphoma-action.org.uk/symptoms-of-lymphoma We send our best wishes to you.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing some symptoms. The symptoms associated with lymphoma do however more commonly occur for less serious reasons than lymphoma. Our suggestion is that if your symptoms last for longer than 2-3 weeks, get worse or are bothering you, you think about speaking to your GP.

My husband got diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, but no symptoms at all. he got lymph in this arm pit and it was around 5cm and it was there for almost 10 years. no pain no enlargement nothing. Just i forced him to check and then doctor did biopsy and then its dragonized as HL on October 2023. So far Zero symptoms we have consulted with 3 doctors and then all advised us to go with Chemotherapy. from doctors we understood Chemotherapy will kill the fast growing cells but my husband has this lymph in same size more than 10 years so its not fast growing, we really dont understand how abvd chemotherapy can kill the cancen cells? can anyone advise us

We are sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. We have information on Chemotherapy here.lymphoma-action.org.uk/about-lymphoma-treatment-lymphoma/chemotherapy. It includes a CZcams animation. This animation explains what chemotherapy is, how it works to kill cancer cells and some of the ways in which it is given as treatment for lymphoma. I do hope that this answers some of your questions. It may also be worth considering a further conversation with your husband's doctor if you have any more specific queries.
