Hello, are you using a block smaller than the 4x4 post to drive the E-Z Spike? It is designed to grip a 4x4 to add additional resistance, so you should only use a 4x4 for the final post.

No I was not aware of that. What they did do is weld together a 2 inch steel plate on either side of a 2 inch steel pipe and beat that down instead works perfect

"half are not built to code or will exceed their life expectancy". Really odd statement. First, one or the other. You can't say "half" are one of the following....pick some ONE thing and give an estimated percentage... And it would be great when a deck exceeds its life expectancy. I'd say "100% of decks will either stand or fall down within 5 years". Now THAT's a statistic to depend on. Nice video though. I always thought the deck pulling away from the house is the most likely cause of a failure.

Can I use 5/8 Titan HD stainless steel with the ABA66Z post base? I couldn't find 6" mechanically galvanized bolts a Lowes.

Are 2 APT connectors enough to provide a post to beam connection or will additional uplift or racking protection be required assuming normal conditions?
These look great but what about uplift? Is the beam just held down by gravity?

If adding your Strong Steel Shearwall (24") to an exisiting structure, can we use the SET-3G adhesive to help anchor the included threaded rods into the concrete?

These are honestly my go-to fastener for SO many applications requiring high strength in exterior situations. Deck guard posts, ledger attachment, pergola knee-brace attachments, etc. Easy to use, fast, and strong as hell.
How come nobody talks about covering the metal with about a half inch of Wax? Especially anywhere you are throwing salt down over it. It is cheaper than a can of exterior paint. On the underside there's not as much wind nor is there foot traffic nor is there direct sunlight... I don't know of another way that is better to keep the joist hangers in brand new condition over 30 years
Most of these connectors are available in stainless steel for ultimate corrosion protection.

💥 1:48 That many screws are required to fasten the ledger to the house.?? I counted almost 40 just in what looked like 8 feet.?? I probably would have used 8 - 1/2” lag screws or bolts

Hi! Thank you for your question. In general, care should be taken in placing post-installed anchors to avoid conflicts with existing rebar. Before drilling through existing rebar, a licensed building design professional should review the installation to ensure the strength of the structure is not compromised. After drilling through/cutting the rebar, depending on the size and location of the existing rebar, installation of the Titen HD and Strong-Bolt 2 may be affected and prevent proper installation. At that point an Adhesive Anchor with threaded rod like our SET-3G high-strength epoxy would be a recommended alternate solution. We hope this helps! Best, Jade

Odd that I just found this video and the product line 7 years after this was posted… and I am the first person to comment. Strange.
When we started on CZcams we didn't have anyone to manage online community service, so all of our CZcams comments were disabled. I believe it was two years ago when the social team started working backwards to activate comments on our older videos.
Wish the program was more on a line base rather then boxed in to add different styles of fencing and it’s unfortunate that the maximum footage is 300’ x2.
