This was the 6th and last race of the 2023 NW Cup downhill mountain bike series (www.nwcup.com), held at Dry Hill in Port Angeles, WA. Of the 6 races, this was the most challenging course, due to the steepness of the terrain and the looseness of the soil conditions. Almost everyone we talked to had crashes during practice (including Ryder) due to the loose conditions. But, he loved this course ...

Ryder (age 6) rode More Duff during our 1-week trip to Whistler in August 2023, and he loved it! Ryder likes both flow and tech, but has a preference for riding tech trails. He rode several other black diamond tech trails during his week at Whistler (Lower No Joke, Upper Huffman, Upper Angry Pirate, Afternoon Delight, Lower Whistler Downhill, Too Tight, Monkey Hands), and he enjoyed all of them!

Ryder (age 6) took 3rd Place at NW Cup 2023 Silver Mountain (in Kellogg, Idaho). Ryder races in the Cat 3 Men 7 and Under category. Ryder had a bit of a wobble (and near crash) during the race, which he saved, but he ended up off the track and it cost him some time. But a great run overall!

Ryder (age 6) took 3rd Place at NW Cup 2023 Whitefish, MT downhill MTB race with a time of 4:41! Ryder races in the Cat 3 Men 7 and Under category. He is getting so fast that dad can't keep up anymore! The hecklers kept telling dad to catch up to Ryder and dad could only say, "I can't! I can't!" 🤣 So proud of this little dude!

It's the cat 3 race course. All cat 3 racers use this course, from the youngest racers at ages 7 and under to the oldest racers in the 50+ category.
That’s so cool I’m currently 12 and have been mountain biking since 6 and trust me if you try to do bigger jumps harder tech and go faster every time you go mountain biking you will improve so fast❤
Thanks! That is awesome! Ryder loves riding tech stuff and only recently started liking jumps. We hope he practices that more, but it is still not his favorite.

@@user-nw3yt3ig3f I'm sure you do jumps all the time and you hang out with a group of similarly attuned people so this seems like nothing to you. But if you took 90% of average mountain bike riders on that trail, they'd roll that feature or crash. Even the ones who hit it would probably case it. Watch dad in the video -- he didn't jump it. A kid that age doing what he's doing is going to be doing crazy stuff when he's a teenager. So, yeah, I stand by my assessment that he has guts and skill.

This is fantastic. I have my daughter on a Woom 2 and she rides on my 29er on a shotgun seat. I am looking to upgrade to the Seeker 14. She has a Bell Sanction full face. Can you tell me what other protective gear you have on his upper body? How do you like the Seeker 14? Thanks for the help
Omg so sorry I didn't see this! I never check this! If you haven't already gotten her protective gear, we highly recommend the @leatt jr fusion vest 2.0! We loved the Seeker 24 and Ryder's 2 year old sister rides it now! Ryder is on a Propain Frechdax 20" now! Happy Riding!
