    Is there a way to reduce the brightness or have the screen off at night (while it is still working) as it is very bright and causes a disturbance while we try sleep. We have already put the general brightness to 10% (the lowest setting) but this isn’t enough as when all lights are off it’s quite bright all night.

      The following program modes would allow you do to this: • 5/2 Day Programming - 4 levels for the weekdays and 4 different levels for the weekend. • 7 Day Programming - 4 levels for each day (long winded as each day of the week needs programming individually). To change the programme mode: • Use the ‘Left/Right’ arrow keys to highlight power icon then press and hold the tick button for 3 seconds. • The display will go blank showing only Power ‘Setup’ and ‘Clock’ • Press the ‘Up’ key followed by Tick to access main feature menu • Use the ‘Up/Down’ keys to scroll through features to feature number 09 • Use the ‘Left/Right’ keys to change feature setting to 00 - for 5/2 day or 01 • Press Tick to confirm settings and return to the blank display • Use the ‘Down’ key to select Power then press Tick once to power on You can then programme accordingly in the EDIT menu.

    Are you leaving the lcd thermostat that low down on the ground ?

    • @davidprendergast9821
      @davidprendergast9821 Před 6 měsíci

      Yes, out of shot there are several backboxes with supply and network cables at the normal height. The homeowner didn't want the thermostat up there as well as it would look / be very cluttered. Where the thermostat runs on floor temperature using the probe anyway it doesn't really matter where it goes, especially as the one selected can be controlled from an app.

    • @davidprendergast9821
      @davidprendergast9821 Před 4 měsíci

      @@andrewlee4938 Agree that it would technically be within regs but it wouldn't be practical. It's a knowledge and wisdom scenario. Just because a tomato is a fruit, it shouldn't go in a fruit salad. The face has a grille that allows air in, the humid, post-shower air will enter the thermostat which will shorten it's lifespan.

Could you please guide me on whether this would prevent efficient heating conductivity, increase energy consumption, and how it might affect moisture levels? Don't understand why it is necessary to fix boards down with adhesive on a concrete or for that matter any surface base?

  • @goodbyetothepeople92

    What mode and speed for underfloor heating?

  • @simonthepukkapieman1387

    Very risky to just loose lay these boards as subfloors are rarely 100% flat even with levelling compound and any voids could cause deflection in the board. Its wise to stick with tile adhesive and also screw with screws and washers. Also bare in mind that it was mentioned they are a gypsum product, if this is correct it's vital to prime the boards properly before using a cement based adhesive or leveller, as gypsum and cement together cause a reaction that will compromise the bond. I hope that helps and good luck!

    just missing the info about the heat loss through that thin board, perhaps add that the min insulation beneath should be 150mm of λ=0.2 W/(mK), add that the floor heating needs a thermal mass and cannot be less than 40mm but preferably 80-100mm - not 5mm ! to actually run properly, add that the floor heating runs continuously and will not work efficiently in the property without the buffer tank where a combi runs on demand, add that the floor heating should never exceed 24degC as we use radiant heat only , we don't want convection nor swollen feet. add that a floor heating doesn't work properly when covered with wood, it needs ceramic/porcelain tiles to perform at its max. perhaps learn from countries which use floor heating for the past 30 years as you have zero experience in this.

    3:00 yeah and 50% of wooden joists with ambient temperatures... british... not so "great" way of building... your way of underfloor "heating" works when heating is on, and it doesnt when heating is off- there is no buffer in 1mm thck or less aluminium plate and the heat is not stored at all. also wooden flooring acts as an insulator forcing users to increase the heating temperature to achieve max 24degC output to avoid swollen feet. do it right ground floor - remove timber, insulate with styroconcrete or leca , or do a proper slab then 150mm of polystyrene and anhydrate pour. insulate foundations all the way to the ground because in your sht example 22mm plank is the only thing that separates you from the cold under the floor especially by the walls

    • @clivebroad6102
      @clivebroad6102 Před 2 lety

    • @JohnSSSSS
      @JohnSSSSS Před rokem

      So many things wrong here. Not having a buffer can be advantageous, as it makes the system more responsive. Wood is an okay conductor, and once the heat is at the surface it will rise into the room like it would with any other flooring material. However, a slightly higher flow temperature may be required to bring the surface temperature up to, say, 27C.

    Floor heating requires 150mm of Lambda=0.036 graphite polystyrene to ensure there is no loss. You can only waste your money and time with 10mm xps.
