Peaceful PHOTO Walk | 100-400mm Lens
Documenting a peaceful day as it happened. I walked in this garden with my family in the summer of 2022. My first encounter was with an Eastern Phoebe and the last with a Scissortailed Flycatcher, two of my favorite birds in our area. The photos were taken with my 100-400 mm lens. It was hot and the mosquitos were having a feast, every time you see sudden or shaky movements in the video footage, you know I could not keep still as I tried to smack them :)
I wanted to re-live this wonderful day by hearing the sounds recorded and remembering the enjoyment of seeing beauty all around us, that is why there is no voice-over for this one, I hope you enjoy the walk with me.

Spring Flower Photography 🌸 Macro, Lensbaby Sol 45, 400mm
zhlédnutí 5KPřed 2 lety
Join me for photo walk amongst the flowers and some random thoughts about my current place in my photography journey. I bought a LENSBABY lens last year (which I don’t yet recommend, I need to use it more) and I finally show some of my attempts with it. Along with one shot from my 100mm macro lens and many with a 100-400mm lens. I understand my pronunciation of Vincent Van Gogh is the ‘American...

It’s time to break the ice! I’m back after a long absence. It’s February 3, 2022, everything shut down due to the ice storm, giving me extra free time. Some of us in Texas are not fond of the cold, y’all! But, I charged my camera batteries and headed out for a noise free stroll in my neighborhood. I used my phone for macro photography and my camera with a 100-400mm lens. Thank you to all of you...

Tips for Photographing Flowering Trees and Shrubs Close-up | Macro & Telephoto

This is how I simplify a chaotic flowering tree or shrub scene by zeroing in on either one flower or a cluster of flowers, isolating a bloom in the foreground, and moving position to allow distracting branches and flowers to fade out in the background. Sometimes, I like to use flowers in the foreground to frame the subject in the distance. And, sometimes I enjoy playing with my settings to use ...

In particular, the pace of the video (not too fast!) made the steps relatively easy for me to follow. When I see your videos it makes me wish I was in Texas and not the UK. What an inspiration you are! A very gentle and very instructional video full of expertise. Last year sadly I had to sell my Canon gear and Sigma 100mm f2.8 due to eyesight issues. However even with one eye which is recuperating I am going to learn again how to do this genre of photography with my Panasonic FZ1000 Mk1 and I phone 13 pro max. Thanks very much for posting your videos.

Well Leisl spring will be forthcoming. Seeing your video, and others that you do are so inspirational. You just bring that sense of calmness in showing us wonderfully the measure of God’s creation as captured in your photography. I have done some photography like yours and would like to share a few with you if it were possible. I am now 80 years of age and have sold my Canon and Sigma gear as carrying weight was becoming an issue. Now I rely on my Panasonic FZ1000 MK 1 and whilst it is not as good as the Sony RX10 MK4 it is amazing what shots can be had by keeping to a fixed length focus and using Intelligent AF. I also have an I phone 13 pro max which will be of good use as well this year. Thanks again for your videos. Keep them coming. David

Hi, I'm a new subscriber. I'm learning photography anew in depth and am also focusing on flowers/plants and wildlife but I also have a passion for still life in my home. I have been working as a gardener all through the year for about a decade or so but difficulties in my neurological health mean I can no longer do that so I want to learn as much as I can. What do you do in winter when the weather isn't as favourable? Do you bring in from outside foliage to photograph, visit a florist or does your genre change?
