This song was a number one hit in several countries
The hippie squatters were playing this in Michael Palin's stomach.
This is like an advanced difficulty version of Old McDonald.
Oh i love this takes me back I have onset of dementia and watching the great Orinoco justmakes me smite brilliant and thank you xxx
Few wishes would be higher up my Christmas list, than to hear this on the radio, being introduced by the late Steve Wright. Ah, if only
This was real music not what we got today with the likes of Nikki Minaj, lady Gaga etc
What coincidence I'm actually going to the zoo right now
Such fond memories of Julie on TV in the 60's and her records on children's radio too. She was also very beautiful. R.I.P. Julie. Thank you for the music. xx
Wow, that takes me back, I was 7 such magical memories 😊.
Could have sworn i saw a womble a couple of years ago although i was pissed at the time
who wrote? who played and who sung? I heard that it was some one from a famous punk band, but cant remember who, is this just an urban myth?
🦔
Mike Batt wrote it and he’s in one of the costumes. He had nothing to do with any punk bands as far as I’m aware. He also wrote Bright Eyes which was a big hit for Art Garfunkel.
Space pirates
I loved this when I was 13, and I still love it at 61! 🤣
First heard this song with my Dad on his last Christmas before he passed. It’s now my go to Christmas song that brings me back so much joy and memories at this time of year.
Loved the Wombles records as a child and still love them now. All due respect to Mike Batt for these well produced records, even my grandkids love 'em, say's it all really....
Dec 1974
Still gives me excited tingles xxxxx
I only just discovered this song, thanks to Monty Python. czcams.com/video/n19vHS5_WVk/video.html
Came from Monty Python's Flying Circus/Psychiatry Sketch from 1970.
2023 😂
Arguably the most underrated British band of the 70s.
even at that age - she has already mastered her singing skills -- amazing ...
She wonderful
I think it’s a very sad song about divorce and the implications on nuclear family and children. The parents are obviously separated and taking their children to the zoo on separate days.
Love this song,Connie is so cute and she makes me happy❤
Impressive Xmas sound. Doesn't get enough air play
Play it every year at Christmas. Memories of Christmas past .waiting for Santa to come and make your dreams come true . Family in and out for a small sherry or three. Would love one more Christmas like that
Very Underrated single, doesn't get enough air play. Reached an impressive N02 in the UK Chart.
For me old mucker and the birthday girl. ❤❤❤❤
An I thought they were all off their faces on LSD in those days
sniffing up the WHAT??
Cheesy as hell but brilliant
I'm sorry, but this has to be by some distance the greatest Christmas song ever made.
You are completely correct, bonnie lad 👍
Hard to disagree ❤
Proud to be a Womble as I grew up in Wimbledon. :-)))
52 years young and I still adore this song
Quite simply the greatest Christmas song EVER
The inspiration for Slipknot
Classic song my favourite Christmas song since I was 4
I am beyond happy watching my favourite childhood memory ❤
So this is the cunt that sang the song I was forced to sing in the first grade and absolutely hated.
Memories.. Good Memories.. X
Unbelievable! Incredible talent!
♥️
Preciosa desde siempre mi dulce👸Connie💘🌺😘 Excelente👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🎤🎹🎼👍👍👍
Magnifique 🥰
Brings back memories. Julie Felix , June 14th 1938 - March 22nd 2020. RIP Julie.
Excellent 1970,s Christmas song
Well what can you say Mike Batt a mastermind, and all the wombling songs he wrote still amazing today, added extra magic to my childhood thank you Mike and of course the Wombles!!!!
Either this or 9 Million Bicycles In Beijing.
This was obviously a contender for 1975’s Christmas #1. The song never made it to #1. 1975’s Christmas #1 was one of the best songs ever made, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen.
WHOS HERE 2021 DECEMBER??
I am here in November 2022 xx love thus song
