Fix'n Stuff with Dave

The toaster's not working, the handle broke off the fridge, common day to day problems that pop up up round the house. When things go wrong I will video the fix and post it here on Fix'n Stuff.
De'Longhi Nespresso Gran Lattissima EN650 Infuser replacement
My De'Longhi Nespresso Gran Lattissima EN650 had started to leak water into the drip tray. It became so bad I had to empty the tray every two coffees. It also meant the machine didn't deliver the correct amount of coffee to the cup as half of it was in the drip tray. In this video I show how to replace the infuser with a new one. I also show how to dismantle the case of the coffee machine.

After some use the automatic milk frother becomes intermittent. There is no fix in the troubleshooting section of the manual. I show you how I fix mine and the machine returns to making beautiful coffee. This fix may apply to other DeLonghi coffee machines with an automatic milk frother.
Samsung Printer Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Hinge Replacement

The hinges for the Automatic Document Feeder or ADF on Samsung printers have a tough job and eventually fail. New hinges are available online and are cheap so why not fix them yourself. Thanks Dave! The new part works great. No more leaks! 😊 I believe the original part went bad when my visiting relative manhandled the lever when the pod bay was full. Instead of emptying the used pods he forced the lever down which most likely bent an internal part and prevented it from sealing properly. The new part arrived in a couple days and I followed your instructions. I am happy to report my Nespresso machine is back to work again making my morning coffee. Thanks for the help!
My printer looks just like this one. I was able to replace the left hinge but can't get the right side one out. Any suggestions?
hey i was looking for something else about this machine but and maybe can you help me . i have a big problem with the descaling boutton because this one dont wanna tourn off and i already did everything to try to fix it maybe you have some answers to fix this problem thx a lot
Thanks for your video, you're the best! GRAZIE!
Thanks so much for your video instruction! I replace the hinges, and now I can use the auto feeder again. I could not find a aluminum piece, so used a piece of sturdy plastic from a packaging instead. It's not as smooth as aluminum, but worked. Thanks again!
Thanks from Thailand Dave, The replacement wasn't bad at all because of your video. The only problem is that the new hinges make a horrible loud creaking sound when the cover is opened now, I tried using a penetrating oil on them, as much as I dared anyway, but it didn't help. Any ideas? The new hinges were from Samsung.
Thank you you have solved how to fix my water leaking problem 😊
The areator area and one of the springs were dirty. Cleaned them up and the Coffee machine works like new. Thank You Sir :-)
Olá, fiz exatamente como explicado no video e funcionou na perfeição. Obrigado pelo video, tempo despendido a gravar e editar.
Thank you! This was very helpful! Greetings from Brazil!!
Thank you Dave. I had the new hinges sitting on the desk for 6+ months. Your video made the replacement so simple for me. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Yo it work!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Thanks for a great video. I had a different problem and couldn't work out how to get into my machine before I watched this. All I did was follow your instructions until you removed the top and pulled the little plug. I then plugged it back in and it reset my machine and it's working again. Thanks
Thanks Dave! Well explained and well filmed. You’ve saved my machine from the landfill and many dollars from my pocket!
Thank you so much for this video! Wanted to keep ewaste out of the landfill and so glad I found your video! I used a piece of plastic from a plastic blister pack instead of the aluminum can to help slide out the hinge.
I still got steam and little water with no milk
Great video Dave. Managed to fix and i now have the perfect coffee
Worked great! Thanks!
Thanks for the helpful video. Could you please tell me what kind of screw driver you used?

Thanks bro You save my morning cafe ☕️
Thanks so much..very helpful
Great detailed video just fix mine now 👍🏻
Brilliant video, thanks. You helped me fix my machine; I had a similar fault.
Thanks so much Dave! It worked for us and we are now so happy to have good coffee without the water loss!
Thank you! Now I can enjoy some lattes again
Where did you buy the infuser?
Good on you, Dave. Just done mine. Works a treat. No leaks! Many thanks!
This is a great video Dave. This seems to be a common problem with the Nespresso machine, well for me at least. I had the infuser fail on our previous machine the EN720 and now on our current machine EN650B. I looked high and low for a manual and couldn't find anything relating to this machine, (the milk frother was playing up a couple of weeks ago and it didn't seem to be a common problem). Then I stumbled across this video which is a great help. Thanks.
Dankeschön
Thank you this worked :)
Great, thank you Stephanie.
Thank You, helps me very much. All the best from Germany.
Glad it helped!
Super
Thanks
Didn’t work for me
Thanks for the video but doesn't solve the problem at all. The real issue is the frothing regulator. It sits on a piece of rubber which becomes perished over time. I tried all the tricks but was only able to fix this by replacing the milk jug unit. Plugged a new one in and works perfectly now.
Thanks for the feedback Boerboel. The video does fix the common problem of milk buildup in the frother springs. You had a different problem which my video didn't address. Where is the rubber piece you had trouble located, can I assume up where the clean selector knob is inserted?
@@DavidTipton101 Hiya Dave, I followed your steps and indeed, it worked perfectly to clean the injector(?) unit. The vinegar trick was amazing as it got rid of all the gunk. My machine is the DeLonghi Nespresso EN750MB model. Design and concept almost identical to yours, the only difference is your machine has a dual frother system whereas mine is single. Having thoroughly cleaned the unit, and replacing the spring & ball back inside along with that rubber tube I was surprised that it made absolutely no difference - the spring in mine was gunked up much worse than yours. (Other similar YT videos show the ball going in first, then the spring. I tried both ways but it made zero difference - the inference being that it failed even before it got to the frothing stage where the ball / spring is activated - one can see there isn't enough suction). Not keen on buying a new machine (£450 here in UK) and the only other option was to strip the machine and replace a solenoid valve or some such. Then I spotted this comment / review on Amazon: "It's an official replacement part, and exactly the same quality as the one that originally shipped with the machine. Unfortunately, this means it'll work for about a year and fail in the same way - it stops picking up milk from the tank and just spits steam and hot water into your mug. There's a rubbery membrane inside that controls the mixing of milk and steam according to the position of the dial, but over time that degrades and goes stiff from being heated and chilled. Once it's too stiff, it won't suck milk up." I bought a new milk jug unit (£35) and this worked instantly. When adjusting the frothing dial on the new unit vs the old (3 yrs), you can feel a big difference - the old one feels stiff. To summarise, there's nothing inaccurate with the advice in your video, its all 100% spot on. But in my case no amount of cleaning worked so one concludes this rubbery membrane issue is the culprit. Hope this helps someone.
Legend! Thank you. I can't believe instructions equivalent to this aren't included with the machine! I've struggled with a number of Nespresso Lattisima machines over the years. Wish I'd seen this a long time ago. FYI I used citric acid (from Mckenzie's powder), which I like as an compact, cheap, non-flavoured source of mild acid.
Thank You. Helped a lot. Especialliy removing the old parts out of the holes.
My pleasure Andy.
Thank you so much🌸
Hi David. I have been see this viedo a lot of time now. I just have to thank you with great gratitude for your video guide on how to clean. You have learned many important steps and points for this cleaning. However, I myself had a great urge for further investigation because what actually happens when the milk frother mechanism breaks down? I took out my micro tube camera and went further into the channel for rubber with springs and balls. Here I was surprised when I discovered that inside the tube, where milk passes through vibrations and foam is made, there are 3 tiny plastic protrusions. Despite cleaning, the 3 spouts were covered with thick protein waste, belonging to the milk. I paid a visit to the garage and drove on with compressed air made of high thickness, in these two pipe channels that produce skimmed milk. And believe it or not, this was a wonderful cleaning! This took the whole cake, an even bigger layer of milk foam was the result. Thank you for your generous donation for the cleaning, it is with me from now on complete. Take care!
Thank you Tage, I will look at mine the next time I clean it. I have pinned your comment to the top so other can see it. Thanks you for taking the time to comment 👍🙂
@@fixnstuffwithdave8091 Brave :D You welcome :D
Thank you so much,
Thank you so much for this. Replaced two broken hinges on my Samsung 4833FD. Nice and easy!
I am looking for an answer to my problem; nespresso machine ONE EN500 the coffee + milk button no longer lights up and pressing it does nothing, while the first 2 buttons work correctly. What could it be? if I insert the cleaning accessory, nothing happens
Hi Marcello, it sounds like it needs a service, you could try doing a factory reset as per the manual and see if that fixes it.
Ciao Marcello, ho lo stesso problema. Per favore, come hai risolto poi?
hi! thx for your video! I am looking for an answer to my problem; on the same nespresso, from one day to the next, the button to froth the milk stopped working (it no longer lights up) while the other 2 did. Do you know what it can be?
Did you solve it?
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks mate.
Good to hear, thank you.

Thanks Chanta, I hope it works for you.
i have the same model.. my milk frother wont froth.. it just blinking all the way till all the button blinking orange simultaneously for 10x and automatic shutdown.. do you know the problem?
Hi faddy ashyl, according to the troubleshooting guide in the manual: "All buttons blink simultaneously for 10 seconds and then machine switches off automatically." "Error alarm, machine needs repair. Send appliance to repair or call Nespresso." You need to get the machine repaired faddy ashyl.
@@DavidTipton101 thank you
