Hi Alain! Can I put "door" in the middle of the sentence? For example "Ik kom te laat door mijn autoproblemen"?
Yes, you can, and here's more about door: czcams.com/video/8REM-plvvI0/video.html and about because (of): czcams.com/video/pCre_ThmZzw/video.html
Dank u wel! ❤
Dit is echt interessant
Helpful
Wanted to learn a new language over the summer and this part was really bugging me Thanks for the clear explanation!
Happy to help!
First of all teach east, west, north and south.
Hallo,dankuwel

Never stop uploading. IMO, the best videos regarding dutch grammar and all the rules
More to come!
Simple way of learning
Geweldige video voor mensen die geen nederlands kunnen (ik ben nederlands)
Bedankt!
Ik verkies chocolade koffie 😋
so belgians say G like a hiss and R like a purr. Ok, I'm putting cat ears on in Belgium.
But this is flemish
Pronunciation varies indeed a lot over the regions... But hey, you gotta start somehwere
Dat is meer Vlaams denk ik, in Nederland zouden we zeggen: "Hij kan er niet bij"
How about the usage of pas as a concept of timespan, "Zij is pas 6 maanden in Nederland."? Is this the same meaning as number 6 "pas als"?
Aha, not exactly. "Zij is pas 6 maanden in Nederland" means she's only been living in the Netherlands for 6 months, which is recently. 'Pas als' means more 'from the moment,' or 'only if'.
Hi Alain! At 2:27, the second sentence; Ik had al gegeten. Isn’t ‘al’ unnecessary since ‘had gegeten’ determine it’s plusquamperfectum? Thanks.
Hi Arad, indeed, it's unnecessary, but you can still use it.
@@LearnDutchwithAlain Thanks for that!
Hoi alain, ik heb een vraag . Ik heb nu aan het Nederlands leren. Maar ik heb nog niet begrepen over dit zin. ( het hotel is 10keer *zo duur als* mijn oude hotel ) kunt u mij uitlegen? Wat de regel wanneer we dit woorden moeten gebruiken ? Dit is comparative zin ? Of niet?
Hoi, zo... als ... is in het Engels as... as...
Dank je wel 😊
Hartelijk bedankt 🙂

Wow, wat een interessante en leerzame video! Deze werkwoorden zijn ook moeilijk om te gebruiken voor Franse mensen. En hoe is het voor het werkwoord steken 🤔? Dank je wel 🙂
Steken is zoals stoppen, maar je kan steken ook op andere manieren gebruiken: www.vandale.nl/gratis-woordenboek/nederlands/betekenis/steken :)
Dank je wel voor je antwoord 😊 @@LearnDutchwithAlain

Dankjewel Alain 🙏
Very nice and beneficial . Thank you so much
1:30 Het rijtje klopt niet; de derde vorm meervoud is uiteraard “Zij zijn”.
Hm, het is het enkelvoud, het meervoud volgt later in de video...
Thanks.
Can you use graag in a sentence for please e.g. graag je schoenen uit(doen)?
Yes, it's rarely used, but yes.
@LearnDutchwithAlain OK thank you. When I hear Belgian work colleagues say things I know what they mean (mostly!) but I'm too scared to veer from the 'proper' Dutch I learnt because I don't want to make mistakes/have what I say get misconstrued 😅
Technically correct English is "may I drive?" But "can I" is misused enough in English that I completely understand where you're coming from
Thanks a lot, Alain. That it is I have search for 👍🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Dank je
Dank u wel
het kind - de kinderen / de kinders???
Kinders is more dialect, kinderen is the official one.
So: He couldn't do it = Hij zou het niet kunnen doen. ? Thanks for the great lessons.
Thanks for the comment! That's a tricky one, which doesn't translate well. There are two ways to say it: Hij zou het niet kunnen doen. = He wouldn't be capable of doing it now or in the future. Hij kon het niet doen. = He wasn't able to do it, in the past
@@LearnDutchwithAlain Thank you!
Nice merci
Very clear. Any idea why translation apps seem to use nearly always Het instead of Hem for It regardless of the noun?
Hi Ronald, good question, I don't really have an answer. It might be because many people (including myself) make mistakes against objects' genders. So I guess the translation apps use the safest way out...
like always the best
About the pronounciation of G: He says in the video that the Belgian pronounciation is like a hissing cat. I agrre on that. I would add though that the the pronounciation in the Netherlands sounds like a bigger cat like panther or cougar. 😅
Haha, that's funny :)
Great idea for a video 💯
Thanks 💯
