This is a national disaster.
This idealogy has to be instilled first in children probably the nursery school children
The Nigerian government has completely loose interest in agriculture. All upcoming and already known politicians are faced with oil money ignoring agriculture. I think the Nigerian government needs to sponsor researches in agriculture and invest seriously in agriculture
So many erroneous and misleading views about GMOs here. As a research scientist who has done 10 years extensive research on the safety of GM Crops in Nigeria, I can say that GM Crops are Safe and Vital for Nigeria's Food Security Opposition to genetically modified organisms (GMOs) has been growing in parts of Africa, including Nigeria, due to claims that GM crops can cause cancer and damage indigenous crops and biodiversity. However, these claims are not supported by scientific evidence. In fact, GMOs are vital for improving food security and nutrition across the continent. With global temperatures rising, drought becoming more frequent, and the population continuing to grow rapidly, GM crops are an essential tool for improving agricultural sustainability and food security. By adopting GMOs responsibly and embracing their potential, Nigeria can enhance food production, protect biodiversity, and ensure all its citizens have reliable access to safe, affordable and nutritious food.
Without speaking generically, highlight the erroneous views on GMOs. Further, CEFSAR is rich with teams of Professors on Biochemistry, PlantBreeding and Biotech, so we will provide ample response to your points. Thank you.
