The layout's weird and the house could really use at least another half bath (especially if all the bedrooms are to be occupied at full capacity) or full bath, but overall it's a neat cottage! And at only $245,000 , it would only take two or three roommates making the median wage to afford the house comfortably.

What are the restrictions when it comes to height and architectural style? Could you build a castle there?

The exterior is part cape cod, part Georgian colonial, all gorgeous charm! Indeed, the rear yard is great for gardening, though you'd have to check the zoning if you wanted to grow vegetables, especially on a relatively large scale. That sunroom is awesome. Depending on zoning, you could easily convert at least half of the detached garage into a guest suite or full-on apartment, especially if it's already plumbed. The relatively closed floorplan doesn't allow for much of a WOW factor but it's ideal for those who want to immure the mess in the kitchen and have separation between living spaces. They did well for the finishes throughout, and the rooms are decent sized. I wouldn't recommend more than 4 adults share this house long term as more than 2 adults sharing a standard bathroom long term is a NIGHTMARE!

The first step is to have a six figure income for the majority of houses, or a higher five figure income for low end properties. Now, the 6 figure income requirement is for living there by oneself, each roommate can have a more modest income if this is the route taken.Another qualification is to be neurotypical. If you have an intellectual or developmental disability, you can't even live independently, let alone own a home.

Feel sorry for the millennials and gen-zedders who are highly unlikely to ever to be able to afford homeownership. With the average property price of $400'000 -$600'000 i just don't see it happening until the economy gets saner, if it ever does. Add to that the growing percentage of the population having neurological disabilities that make it extremely hard if not downright impossible to live independently, and thus are doomed to live with their parents or in some semi institutional arrangement such as an adult family home (AFH), and it looks like the American dream is becoming a pipedream!

Nice 🏠. The only issue with me is that the closets are too small.

I understand why they did what they did upstairs by giving people options with that space off the bathroom. It can be used as closet space, nursery, home office/reading nook, or more bathroom space. The niche in the bedroom could be converted to closet space OR just put an armoir and dresser in that space, no construction needed.

They could have made that master bedroom bathroom bigger with that extra space
