Yes I have retired, but I still have lots of video I shot to post. Now that I have some free time, I can start posting it. I usually edit between routes, but I was busy working in the maintenance shop, updating files and such.

No I didn't, just saw the aircraft flying about a 1000 feet off the deck, then land at Blythe Airport. Aircraft was still parked 4 hours later.

The Blythe Airport was originally used to support the training of B-17 bomber pilots during WW2. As we were passing the Wiley's Well exit I noticed a the tail of a plane passing between 2 hills. As we passed the hills I saw the aircraft traveling north and then made a turn in a Southeasterly direction past the 10 freeway then lined up for a landing. We raced to the runway and shot the video. We used FlightRadar24 to identify the aircraft.

I was driving bus 10, the bus with the green bumper is bus 52. I did a video of that bus in my electric bus Playlist.

Thanks, that's the plan. We are in concrete for a bus rally in April 2025 and are thinking about some upcoming Rallys in Arizona including Quartzite and SkooliePalooza in Erenberg

I have been in the bus business since 1985. I have driven and managed: school bus, charter bus, Dial-A-Ride & Access buses, as well as transit buses. It was a fun career. I still have some content to edit and post.

It's been a lot of fun, one of the best jobs in the world. Become a school bus driver and see the USA. I got to drive school buses as north as Marin County, east to Indio and south to San Ysidro. Driven articulated charter buses (Prevost), double deck transit buses, transit buses and Dial-A-Ride vans. And managed many operations. For 2 years I was the operations manager for the 2nd largest transit agency in Southern California.

Our Director takes pride in our fleet of buses. We have professional washers washing our fleet monthly. Buses are on a repaint schedule to maintain that new look to the buses. Our mechanics are top notch. As a Utility Driver I also work in the shop and maintain vehicle maintenence records. I have been in the passenger transportation business for 38+ years. They have it together pretty good.

LOL, naw just taking a break on my way home. Been working in the shop the last couple of days. Today I was moving and stacking bottles of Freon. Them puppies are heavy. Also going through shop files. Cheap labor for them. Tomorrow a field trip to the Natural History Museum in DT LA. Did a video of a 40' bus in a small cul-de-sac yesterday. Then did the same one in a 35' bus. Still editing that one.

Our district started on June 3rd and ends on June 21st. Just 3 weeks.

Wow, Fontana's school year starts in August and ends in May. 3 weeks of summer school in June. Then all are off in July.

It's a pretty good deal for the kids and a lot of fun unloading the kids and driving through the parking structure.

The original paint is peeling and taking the newest paint, which is around 40 years old with it. I will shoot video this weekend. We have been doing touch-ups, but now it is peeling faster in other spots. Painting our skoolie was easy, the base layer was secure. Here the base layer is not secure. So that's where the pressure water idea popped up. The bare spots are plenty enough to look tacky to me.

Fontana Days run

This was transporting 1/2 marathon runners 13.5 miles up to Lytle Creek.from Fontana. We transported 1600 runners in 20 buses. It was a blast with the police escort up to the city limits. We got to speed and run red lights on this shuttle.

I am driving our 2017 Subaru Outback. My camera is mounted to my rear view mirror.

The Blue Birds get really warm with this climb. I haven't had a chance to ask the IC CE drivers how well they did on Saturday. Should be an interesting answer either way.

They are enjoying us being home with them this week. We are usually gone 12 hours a day for work and they are enjoying spending time with us.

Weren't the old days of team rivalry fun? Last time we took a football team from Fontana to Eisenhower High in Rialto, Rialto PD babysat our drivers and buses and our school police department made sure no one followed us.

@@jonusle2937 I didn’t see the Fontana PD till about 4th quarter and they told me what they wanted me to do. No stopping and follow them no matter what. Got to the freeway and they disappeared.

No issues with our CNG buses starting on hot or cold mornings.

Electric buses. Mileage is very low. School runs average how many miles a day? What about what about School bus Charters?

@bryancooper2699 our rear motor Blue Birds have a range of 85 miles per charge IC CE Electric Conventionals have a range of 100 miles per charge. Most of our routes average around 75 miles per day and some buses charge during the mid-day brake. Our small vans have a range of 55 miles per charge. All stay local when it comes to field trips.

LOL, I ain't retired yet Mort. My last day of work is June 13th. That gives me a chance to race through red lights as fast as my bus will will carry me for around 10 miles. Plus work 9 days of summer school. My director picked my retirement date and I agreed.

Always, you never know who is watching. I tracked them on FlightRadar24 to Barstow and back to San Bernardino. I was hoping for a rematch.
