for everyone watching, please do not touch wild raccoons in most states if a human touches a raccoon the "standard procedure" is to immediately test said raccoon for rabies, the test kills the animal in many states if you take in a raccoon to a shelter for "rescue" or even just report it and mentioned you got close to it they will "perform a rabies test" which, as said will end the poor critters life it's best to keep your distance unless you're a licensed professional, for the animals sake that said a situation like this isn't touching, if you can help wildlife without negative impact then by all means give a hand to our struggling furry friends
