Castlecomer Discovery Park

Castlecomer Discovery Park comprises 80 acres of natural woodland and 2 picturesque fishing lakes. There are 6km of trails ingrained in the woodlands and around the lake shores. Explore our new permanent 1, 2, 3km orienteering trails, and unearth the magic of the park.
The Discovery Park is an accredited DPSM centre (Discover Primary Science & Maths), and we provide primary and secondary education and recreation programmes throughout the year.
Discover your inner climber on our Tree Top Adventure Walk. 10 metres above the ground, this 140 metre course provides a real mental and physical challenge. Reach new heights on our great outdoor climbing wall, or experience the daring 'Leap of Faith' -- climb the 7 metre pole, balance on the platform and take a 'leap of faith'.
Visit our fascinating interactive multimedia Coal Mining Exhibition, charting the formation of coal over 300 million years. Relax and enjoy the award winning Jarrow Cafe and shop in the Craft Yard.

Stand - Up Paddle Boarding at Castlecomer Discovery Park
Stand - Up Paddle Boarding is one of our newest activities here at the Park. Led by our trained instructor Merlin, it guarantees a relaxing and enjoyable time out on the water.

Hello! thought I would comment on 'The Lime Tree' photo. I have compared it with a photo That I took back in the early nineties, Was this 'Tommy Coogans' bar lounge then? I'm nearly certain that it is, I spent one evening there and slept in my vw van which I parked outside. My dad was born in 'Castlecomer' so I made the trip from uk Dublin, Galway and Castlecomer then Kilkenny and back. It was a happy pilgrimage with fair amounts of 'Guinness' I recall.
They were hard working men god bless them all.
