Hey i just want to know after MPFL Reconstruction Surgery how many days did it take for you to achieve full knee bending. And was the process of knee bending very pain full ?

How is your knee now in 2023? I’ve just been told I need MPFL, and very worried about recovery. I’m very active in my personal life, ballroom dancer, gym etc. I’m curious about how quickly you returned to “normal” and whether you notice any permanent changes to mobility.

Hello . I have mpfl reconstruction. It's been a month already but it's hard for me to bend my knee like there is tension

How was your walking? We’re you able to lift your leg? I’m 6 days post op and walking with crutches but I can only move the leg I had surgery on with my toes like scooting my toes to move the leg.

I just had the same surgery. I had a similar experience! I'm at post-op day 1. I'm glad to hear about your experience. It's nice to know lots of young people get this surgery too. I don't feel alone now.

I’m at 60° week 5 and struggling

I dislocated my knee (2nd time in 5 years) playing soccer, put it back myself. MRI said MPFL is stretched, no tear. Doctors are telling me to get a surgery regardless considering future chances of dislocation and tear are high now. Am really worried. I have full range of motion after 1 week of injury, but strength isn't the same and some stiffness is there.

I had this done a month ago and I’m bending it per the Drs. Orders. & I had a question. Did you still see your kneecap slide in and out after? I’m still a bit swollen and I’m sure it’s sliding out bc of the swelling & water in it. Has this happens to you?

I just wanted say thanks for making these videos... having this op soon. I have had different ops before and one thing that really upset me was nurses in recovery that made me feel I was an annoyance! The other thing... you crying in recovery. Don't know if anyone has said but having had this Happen to me, my anesthesiologist said it is really common. Apparently the anesthesia lowers your inhibitions and just BAM... crying, screaming, you name it! ♡♡♡

How long can you get your full ROM ? I am 80° at week 9, because until week 4 i wasnt allowed to bend at all by my doctor

I'm getting this surgery in 2 months, and I'm supposed to be getting my license around that same time. My surgery will be on my left knee, so do you think i'd still be able to drive? Also, I'm getting the surgery in the offseason of my high school tennis season, and I'm worried I won't recover in time to start training. What was your total recovery time? (when you could like run and stuff)

Hii I am suffering with chondromalacia patella grade 3....do I need to undergo arthroscope surgery...as I am havin instability and lot of pain while walking....my knee is swollen up....and I can't bend my knee.....any suggestions

I'm about to get this surgery next week and I'm kinda scared bout the pain.....i don't know what my pain tolerance levels are but they're definitely not good.....anyways thank you so much for cheering me up❤️

Hi! I know this is late but I just had mine last year, around November and I’m currently 5 months in. Recovery time for me is slow and still can’t bend my knee fully yet and there’s slight pain in doing that but I’m curious, could you actually bend your knee fully again like 160 degrees before after recovery? Cause right now, I’m wondering if I’ll ever get to bend my knee again like i use to. My knee’s Mobility range is still a little rusty and stiff to me.

Hi! So I actually just got accepted into the program and I've been watching all your videos about it, so thank you so much for keeping them up! I just wanted to ask how they gave you a roommate. Were you able to pick or did they pick for you, and was the roommate you had or other people had studying the same thing?

I had to have a whole new ligament placed into my knee. I also had to have my knee cap physically moved and repositioned with 3 screws. I keep trying to figure out why mine is so different than others and now I know 🤦‍♀️

i’m about to get this surgery on wednesday i’m a little nervous, and how is your knee right now? are you able to jump and do everything as good as you were able before?

This fr helps me feel like I’m not the only one who has gotten mpfl reconstruction surgery, I’m 13 and I’ve dislocated my knee 14 times, tore my ligament then pulled it, while also fracturing it, and I’m 2 months post op And also I’ve been off of crutches since two weeks post op, and does anyone know when I can start riding a skateboard again?

HEY. I didn't have a surgery but there was a partial tear in my MPFL. I have followed the same procedure so far by taking rest and it's my week 3 and now I've started waking with me knee cap on but I feel a lot of stiffness and I am unable to bend or stretch my knee to the fullest. Did you also felt stiffness around your knee? where you also unable to bend your knee in the starting weeks?
