It's basically going back to other things but calling it a different name, i.e. optimistic nihilism. Which is in itself a contradictory term.

There’s a story that Buckminster Fuller in his early adulthood became convinced that he was a failure, and he was going to kill himself. I think he already was married and had a kid at this point, but he was very dejected. Then it occurred to him that if he was already a failure, it wouldn’t make any difference if he just kept trying to do what he felt was the right thing to do and continue to be a failure, that it wouldn’t be any worse if he stayed and continued to fail if he offed himself. And he went on to be considered one of the greatest minds of the 20th century. Of course we can’t all depend on that by any means. But we never know how we are contributing to the big picture.

We are so very blessed that Sue did so many interviews. She really was passionate about spreading this wonderful science and making it available to all. I think of all the therapy options out there, and all have some value, but EFT hits the bullseye! We can no longer afford therapies that muddy the waters we need therapy that is on target. EFT fits that bill.

I had a crazy mishap with a surgery as well. I had to have my appendix removed and the doctor lacerated my intestine while removing the appendix and had to do a repair. Found out afterwards this was one of the doctors last surgery before he retired.

I stumbled into Stoicism back in the 1970's while in college and though it resonated, it did not "Click" at that time because my focus was more on an analysis and structures of Philosophy and religion collectively. The trigger for wanting to do the research happened to be D&D when it first came out. Stoicism came back to me when a friend showed a copy of "Meditations" and I commented that I had read it decades ago. He suggested that I read it again, which I am. In between that time and now I had done a lot of work on management motivational techniques and AI design which ended in 2000 and after that time I added hypnosis to the meditation blend I had developed in the late 1960's. You discuss the social illusions (Yours) and delusions (external to you but pushing against you) around this time of social stress pounding us at this time. So, I am stepping into the river again and it is different with perspective and as it applies to my experiences since those days. When working with clients using hypnosis as the tool of choice, trust is not about them trusting me, it is their younger self trusting themselves at their current age. I have always seen experience as the distance you have covered in the years you have covered between the two points in your life. Well done, well presented.
