Praise Jesus! I appreciate this helpful video.
I use a vacuum on the return grill
I was told by our service tech that nobody uses potassium because it's become WAY too expensive. It was too expensive 10 years ago when I was using it. I switched to salt.
my new handler in the garage has a filter box and my hvac guy said to change out this filter but stop using the filter box that is in the home. he said to never put a filter in both of them as that would cause too much restriction and ice the coils. is this true? i feel uneasy not having a filter on the living room box.
I live in town and have city water but it is very hard and much calcium...what method do you recommend to remove this in my water? I have seen filters and other methods..but have no idea what would be the best? thanks
Great video. Thank you for taking your time and being very clear.
What if i remove water until the salt level wher the water
Thank you so much! This helped me to find the water source for my home until I could fix this crazy leak in my bathroom at 5am.
I always thought the salt pellets dissolved. Thank you!
not exactly. The important thing I have experienced over the last 35 yrs of home ownership with softener tanks (am on my 3rd softner system)while using salt pellets is as follows… • always sift your pellets before adding them to the tank. why? because there is on average 1 - 2 pounds of fine salt dust in each 40 pound bag and this dust crystallizes into a hard cake layer or bridging. if not able to sift with a sifting jig, then i would painstakingly hand lift, slowly enough to allow the dust to fall back into the bag, handfuls at a time out of the bags when installing salt pellets. This greatly reduces the bridging that occurs. That fine dust loves to turn into a quasi sedimentary rock hard salt layer at the bottom of the tank. • once every 1-2 yrs allow you salt level inside your salt tank to fall to about only 20 percent capacity or less. Then, empty your little remaining salt onto a large heavy flat piece of corrugated carton outdoors somewhere safe (away from any landscaping) and allow it to dry thoroughly. You can reuse any pellets that are in this clean out’ by rinsing these with a garden hose if you wish. Or these can be up cycled as a salt lick fodder for wildlife, used for de-icing in Winter thick ice hazards or even used to kill the stumps of brush cuttings. Do not apply around anything green that you do not want to kill; the salt will continue to contaminate soils and kill gardening and landscaping for several seasons, following, so be careful in this up-cycle use to not kill anything you don’t want to die. • while you are at the task of cleaning your salt tank out, take time to clean your softner stainer screens and inlet fittings, “0” rings, etc. • so if you follow the above method, you can keep you salt tank filled between 50% & brim full without the worry of bridging in the shorter, 1-2 yr term.
Video didn't even feel like an ad! Love to see the your business has built. Keep crushing it.
Your video would have been better without the music
I have 4 shut offs. I water main, water main in the flowerbed close to the house, sprinkler main value and zone backflow. Yeah. I am trying to find out what kind of handle to get for the one closest to to house? Any idea.
When I shut the water off at the meter I still get a trickle of water not much. Should I call the water company to look at it
Hello do you change your filters your self If so where do you get your filters from. I keep up with the maintenance but it is so expensive going threw raincoat.
Thank you so much. You explained it perfectly!
Does it matter if I use a 2” to a 1” filter thickness? I have a 20x36x2 but can’t really find in my local stores so is it safe to use the 1” filters?
I have watched few and I found this video really good. Thank you for posting, you made it real simple.
If you have a water softener system like the one in the video, with twin softeners & a brine tank and no pre-filter, what else do you have to do to maintain it besides adding salt? It seems like the video, at the end, suggests there is nothing else you have to do as long as the system seems to continue to work, is that right?
It freezes in most areas of North america... lol
Typically
That not the case anywhere near my area of Texas. We only have a water meter key.
Uh oh my husband used 2 bags and only about 4 inches of the brine tank is exposed, what can I do??
I'd wait for the salt level to go down naturally, as it will within weeks.
Why do I not have the water softer going to the fridge or cold water to sink?
Do these salt tanks help to keep the water clear?
Wow my dads famous! Note, I will do a meet and greet for everyone since im famous now and you can meet me, james's son!!!!!! please no pictures though
Wow almost did it until you said scorpions and snakes
Excellent, thank you.
Turn to Jesus people he died for your sins. Repent of what the New testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel get baptized and obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved God bless you all. If you have faith in Jesus through your faith you will live life with him as your example..,.
Should you turn a faucet on before turning the main water supply on to make sure you’re easing pressure on the line?
Good info, but no link to the filter is provided. Also, why did you show a 1" filter install when you recommend a 3" (the latter being better for both filtration and air flow?)?
Same question. I'm a bit confused about whether to use a 1" or a 3". When we took our old filter out it was a 3", so we thought that's what we had to use.
You forgot not paying your bill
How do you remove salt to see if you have a bridge? And what do you do to the bridge if you have one?
Spray a small amount of water over the bridged salt and poke at it with something like a broom stick to break it up.
I have ALL the keys and wrenches and pliers- I know this much- after some horrors (and a long time ago, working in direct sales for TWC, and thinking, hmm- keys are handy- *use in a legally and necessarily appropriate manner- but I am no one's judger)- thanks- lots of helpful info! A FLOOD is a mess-<3
Thankyou for this video, I had no idea how to do this , I'm a first time home owner . Also, how and when do I replace the filter?
Thank you for the great information.
Good video! Please speak to the problem of "salt mushing" in the brine tank. I recently found this with my softener. Had to vacuum out the water, scoop out all sludge and remaining salt, clean the brine tank and prefill with some water and NEW salt, now regenerating properly again.
Good information. Thank you very much.
Yay, finally a video easy to understand for the regular guy next door .Thanks!
Just had to turn off water to our house cause a pipe burst somewhere and was causing flooding. Really really good video 👍
Exactly what I needed!! Thank you.
Should the gas heater be shut off while draining it ?
My Morrison Extreme Series all in one filled with water about 12” above the salt. I didn’t know what to do, so I removed the water down to the salt level and added some more salt😮
Why don’t I ever have water in mine? The water is only about 2 inches deep at the bottom … 1 bag of salt is obviously way over that.
Mine is also only have about 2inches of water in mine, never seen my water ever that high, is something wrong
@@sanmann57 I had my system looked at,.. I also have an iron remover system and they were competing with each other. That said. The type of water softener I have it’s not supposed to have water sitting in it. So the roughly 2” at bottom is completely normal- atleast for my system, which is an “EcoWater” brand
I was never told I have to turn off my hvac unit when replacing the air filter. I'm not very Happy w several things when they installed our hvac. So please tell me if I need to turn it off and what happens if I never turned it off. They installed it like 5 months ago. Thank you for the information 😢😢
You turn it off just so you're not inhaling any blow back. Other than that, it doesnt matter if you turn it off or not.
This video helped me out greatly, thanks a lot. I absolutely mean it!
good video doesn’t help my situation
You did not explain how to regenerate de water system..
Try almost $8 a bag
Any reason to shut of the gas before draining?
Does it need to be shut off or on ?
