My name is Christina I’m also a Naturopath, Herbalist, GAPS Practitioner and Life Coach. I’m also a mother of 7 amazing children, and together with my husband we home educate our family.
2020 we decided to set off on an epic adventure around Australia, travelling in our van, camper and swags.... however covid hit and we couldn’t get off our little island of Tasmania.
However now is 2022 we are finally setting off on our big adventure... we don’t know where it will lead or where it will end, but we are sure it will be filled with learning, laughter and definitely a little crazy.

Do you guys go free sites with now power supplies and running water? Also food storage mainly cold food... how? What do you do for that? Regards power supply. Also how much did your fridges cost and where did you get them from?
Hi 👋 So at the moment we don’t go to non powered sites for long or much, we did when we have the trailer and have some solar… we want to get solar again, so we can. But awaiting until we get roof racks for that. Water, we have learnt to shower at local pools, after a swim. Most places have somewhere you can refill water if you want to. Wipes are always handy when your trying save on water. We have collapsible water containers for places we need water. Fridge was about $250, and can run with a solar set up and electricity. I do want to upgrade our fridge when we are able to put some of our non essentials like the toilet on the roof.
@Mathewson Family Travel Life with the fridge was off Facebook marketplace place or brand new? Also how much have you looked into the solar? Just to see if you found better deals than me. I was turned off by the extremely high prices. I have roof racks so could strap a solar panel up there easy. But the inverter plus battery packs were very expensive! We aren't doing life on the road like you guys. It's just 2 week trips here and there. A lot of the places we have been to have hard ground. In saying that we're based in WA. Hence the hex pegs question
@@emmabeer5690 fridge is only small, brand new from Jaycar, we have found them to be super helpful when it comes to solar and fridges etc. We have done the inverter thing, it just depends on what you want to use the power for. If it’s just for things like the fridge, then a battery box is the better buy.
I have only just clicked on your video. But look up TAWK. I got the life membership for like $45. They do partnership with camping grounds where 2 nights kids stay free. I only have 5 kids with number 6 due in 3 months. I signed up and booked 2 nights here 2 nights there and 2 nights over there for our WA and SA trip. Did you get hex pegs too if so where from? I'm after reviews on how decent the bunnings ones are and wonder if you got your hex pegs from them? Just for when you have extremely hard ground
No we haven’t run into too many tent peg/hard ground issues yet. So don’t have the hex pegs. I’ve played with have TAWK membership, but never sure if it’s going to be worthwhile for us. I would hate to say anywhere for just two nights a lot, because it takes so much effort put up and packing down. And most of my kids are classed as adults at caravan parks, so we don’t stay there much.
WOW you guys are amazing, thanks for the video, and recomendations, good to know about the tent sides and being waterproof during rain. Youve inspired us, and keeping in practical and simple as youve shown is doable.

Actually, Christina, I started by trying to peel ripe pears. Have you ever tried to peel a ripe pear? 😅😍 Milk gave me serious arthritis but cream and butter, no problem.
Let me tell you. When these things are crippling you, getting rid of them completely is the only answer. That's what I did after suffering in misery for fifteen years. That was twenty five years ago. If I hadn't met a terrific imunologist in Brisbane I think I'd have committed suicide by now. I've started eating a few vegetables now, no fruit at all and for the most part fish, lamb and eggs. That's the lot. Just fresh foods. No grains or nuts. I've tried on occasion but they still don't like me.

What meat animals are you thinking of? We have chooks for eggs. I'm nervous about meat livestock and killing it, gutting it and removing skin or feathers. But family of 7 with aims if making it family of 8 15+ months after the last one is born. Our block is only a 800sqm block. Do you let the soil set for a few weeks before you plant? I'm only half way through the clip when asking this lol
I don’t really let the soil settle. I like the roots to be able to get going as it’s still settling.
We have chickens, quails and rabbits for meat. We currently have a rooster that sleeps in our laundry, so it doesn’t wake the neighbors in the morning. I hope to breed and cull some of our own chickens this year
@@MathewsonFamily how do you stop a rooster from it's morning "wake up everyone" call? Also could you show the setup for the chooks out the back? We have 11 chooks currently. Thinking after we redo the house in 5 years to do a few corn harvests to help cut cost and breed chooks. - not going to lie this video has motivated me!
Yes I’ll do a day in the life of my rooster and show our chicken set up at the same time
We have our rooster in the laundry overnight, he wakes us up about 6:45-7am but we are all used to it now so we hardly hear it
