Nishihara plays in exhibition while the judges are determining the winner of the 2005 National Championship. 1st time I've seen them with rifles. But the music definitely warrants rifles. This is a much more fun show without the pressure of competition.

This was my daughters 1st year in Marching. The band didn't qualify for nationals. But this was a rebuilding year; a stepping stone that was to lead them to 3 National Championships in a row.

This is the first year of Takaesu Sensei as a teacher at Nishihara High School. From this year forward, This school won every national champion they were eligible to win, capturing 4 out of 6 titles, as well as two world titles and placed out of 3 competitions. The Takaesu dynasty begins.

This was the teacher's last year at this school. They won the Nationals by a slim margin with a smaller than usual band (probably cause the students knew that the Teacher was leaving so recruiting was down).

7-12 year olds in Ishigaki Elementary School Marching Band prelim show in 1999. This show was about 90 days out from the Japanese Nationals. I'm trying to find and post that show. Absolutely INCREDIBLE!

This Band took second place behind my daughter's (Kakazu jr high) Band at the Japanese Nationals in the 2000 season. This is the encore show once again in Jan 2001, at the Naha Budokan, where the annual season finale takes place.

After winning two National Championships consecutively, The band can't compete as is the rules. 2001-2002 is just for exhibition. They did win the worlds in 2001 held in the Netherlands, but not with this show. Highlights: The Guard. Edited out a concert formation song.

After being obviously robbed in 2002, Nishihara comes out in their clear high energy Latin style and takes all honors in Winning the Nationals at Saitama Super Arena. Highlights: The full band wheel with percussion, Horns score, Guard. Enjoy the "Encore for Parents" January 2004 {missing many for vacation, flu, don't know. But many holes there are, too bad}

With 1/2 the band as 15/16 year olds (1st year students), Nishihara takes Second at Nationals with the HIGHEST SCORE, But loses on the amount of categories won (Electoral College if you will :P). This is my second favorite show composed by Takaesu Sensei (teacher) next to the 2000 show which is by far the best show I've ever witnessed in any High School Marching Band. This is the following 2001 year (encore show Jan 2002). Kakazu Jr High Repeated as National Champions with a follow-up Show that blew everybody away (for Junior High). The Composition Ryukyu was composed during Tenjin Sensei's (teacher's) third year. With a strong group coming back, The challenger's were no match at the nationals held at the Nihon Budokan just before Christmas 2001.

公立高校なんですよここ。
マツコの知らない世界みてたら、やっぱりこれが観たくなって‥（中毒） 生じゃなくてDVDだったけど、人生で初めて観たマーチングがこの演技だったのが運の尽き‥ 素人だから分かんないけど、こんな無駄のないカッコいい演技他にあるのかな🥲✨
マツコの知らない世界で戻ってきました。私にとってこの時代がマー連です 大掛かりなものに頼らずピットとカラーガードのみ Hはほぼなくひたすら走り続ける この時代が好きでした 意味これ以上の演技はまだ見れていません

10年ほど前から何度も観にきてます。沖縄で1度生の演奏を初めて聞いた時に魂が震えて涙が止まりませんでした。この感動をもっとたくさんの方と共有したいです。画質が良いものがupされるといいなぁ。

懐かしい、、 この映像を15年前にニコニコで観て西原高校のマーチングの虜になった。 ほんとにこれ観るためだけにログインしてたぐらいw
だめだ何回見ても涙が出る！格好良すぎる！この大会の翌年に高校一年生で全国大会出場したのでこのパフォーマンス自体は生では見ていないのですが、ビデオで何回も見てました。

この時同じ舞台に居ました！ 初めての九州大会でめちゃくちゃ圧倒され、レベルの違いに感動しました😭 懐かしくて泣けます😭
ちなみに。 生での演奏は全身に伝わる振動と音や演奏を含め素晴らしい演技となります。 また、この2001年にはレイ・チャールズが講演に学校へ訪問されております。 が、マスメディアを嫌うレイ・チャールズ氏の意向と体調が悪かったためか、実際にレイ・チャールズ氏の講演内容は当時のレイ・チャールズバンドのリーダーの方が変わりにおっしゃられていました。 その時の英文は今でも忘れることは出来ません。
やっぱり楽器が全部ビューグルでないと話にならない。残念だ。

マーチングはやったことないですが、私か中学生の時にテレビで沖縄県マーチングの大会が流れてました。 その時に何故か西原高校だけインパクトがあって、引き込まれたことがあります。 学生卒業して、よく沖縄県マーチング大会には見に行ってたんですが、コロナ影響で見に行けない状況になりましたね。

素晴らしい演奏演技だったのに、加工が。後半は見れますが、やはり修正感が。でもかなり努力した跡がありますから許せます。ファーストプッシュの修正が、音楽をやってないのか…タメが失われていて…やばい。2021年12月
