A must read book by Coralie younger ' wicked women of the Raj' stories about European mistress of maharajas. I was kind a shock to read the facts of royal maharajas and their sons lifestyle and obsession over European women. When they used tour Europe used to visit Burlesque & various theatre shows and each time they used to pick dancers, actresses or curtain raisers and make them mistress and build palaces to each mistress in their territories by gifting emarald & other precious jewels with cash and other expensive gifts. These mistresses were forbidden to mix with British officer and indian royal families some mistresses bitterly got into depression for outcasting them some enjoyed the free lifestyle provided by the maharajas.

One of the main adverse effects of the British were its British created imperialism. Even at that time the interaction between both the parties remained of rules & principles, till now those changes to the society are experienced by the people of the middle and lower class. They were always oppressed by the rich and influential officials. This is the sad reality and we are the new generation who can change it.
