Welcome to the Durham University Concert Band (DUCB) official CZcams channel! We are the university’s only Concert Band, and are open to all brass, woodwind and percussion players on a non-auditioned basis. We pride ourselves on a relaxed and social community and a successful whilst welcoming ethos. We frequently perform to a very high standard, having won an outstanding Gold Award at the National Concert Band Festival 2019, alongside sell-out concerts in venues around Durham, such as Durham Castle Great Hall, and Durham Town Hall. We aim to play a broad range of music, including wind band classics, film music, jazz, and arrangements of orchestral music.

Durham University Concert Band present an evening of summer filled music in their final concert of the academic year: Sun, Sea, and Sky. Fresh from their platinum success at NCBF nationals, the band will perform music from across the wind band repertoire including compositions by Rossano Galante and music from Pixar’s The Incredibles. The evening will also feature the premiere of Above the Clouds composed by Timothy Tsang, one of the bands saxophonists and new conductors for the academic year 2024-25. As many of our members prepare to bid farewell to Durham and their time with DUCB, it is an evening of entertainment not to be missed!
