Progression Session ep. 18: Rock Line with Annoying Cracked Sidewalk Run Up
There is something about this sidewalk and first skinny rock that made this line really hard for me. I’ve probably done 5 sessions at these rocks. I’ve attacked them from both directions. But, until this session, I’d never made it across these rocks. I’d love to go back and connect the third rock onto the line, but that rock is a whole other can of worms.

old man getting it❤🔥
What made you go from a comp style to a street style bike? And have you noticed anything like rear hops being harder on the street bike?
I actually started with a street bike, have dabbled with a comp bike, but MUCH prefer and mostly ride a street bike. Yes, most trials moves are harder on a street bike. But I just prefer street bikes. Comp bikes hardly feel like bikes to me. I can't bunny hop them. They just don't bring me nearly as much happiness as my street bikes.
@@todd_on_bikes you’ve made me realise I would very much like one of each 😂 thanks for replying
Rad!
I'm 40 and I'm impressed. you gave me motivation :)
Great job. I can't do this trick, but from my armchair please let me offer some advice! Instead of kicking the bike around you should enter the trick as if doing a nose 180 (in your case turning right), once you have started to pivot then stick your foot on the wheel and continue. TheUslessTrials has an excellent how to... which I've studied... but can't do the trick!! You've inspired me to give it another go!
You’re right. That is how it’s supposed to be done. But I’ve tried it a lot and I can’t get it done like that. So I’m making do with what I can manage on my limited skills. 😉👍🏼
Yo bro that’s insane ! Making a « slow » whip as you done it here is really impressive 😮 keep the great work mate 🎉
Thank you! Slow is my only option! I haven’t more youthful speed. 😉👍🏼
@@todd_on_bikes maybe, but you still do better than me, a 24 years old man ! And doing it slow is harder than doing it fast (I was doing bmx when I was younger, I know this trick ahah)
Looks amazing im proud of you homie keep.up the fantastic effort❤
Thank you! 🙏🏼
its easy for me english beginer to understand ur eglish
these little shorts are great! how are you capturing and editing the video? your inspiring me to make the effort to record my rides.. cheers
Thanks! I generally use my iPhone on a tripod. I edit the side-to-side motion with the free VN app. Yeah, you should record your rides! Helps to see what it looks like!
@@todd_on_bikes awesome thanks! seems pretty easy, time to get some clips up. #oldmanarmy
Thanks for posting dude, I know you get this often but one more can't hurt. I'm 33 and I almost thought I was too old to get into urban free-riding until I saw some of your content and the progress you have been making at your age is inspiring. Dope.
Good one
Thanks! 🤙🏼
Dude I've been following you lightly because I see you putting in the effort and I'm inspired to try the trials thing. But I just can't bounce on the back wheel without risking a wreck. I already bruised and rebruised my tailbone a few times. So I want to avoid additional setbacks to making progress. Thanks for your videos
You will do it!
Nice! Are you gonna take those skills to Belcarra BC next weekend? Too far a drive for me this year but next year .. ?
I really want to, but both of my sons have baseball tournaments over the weekend. I need to be there cheering them on. This is a hard time of year for me to break away on the weekends. Lots of youth baseball…and some youth basketball mixed in too.
BY THE WAY WHAT BRAKES DO YOU USE? I HAVE SOME MAGURA MT5 BUT I DON'T SEE THEM GOOD, I HAVE ORDERED THE MAGURA MT7 PRO HC3 STORM HC 203 I HOPE THESE NEW BRAKES GIVE ME MORE CONFIDENCE.
I use Hope Tech 3 Trial Zone brakes. I love ‘em.
👍👍👍👍👍😁
Wow amazing my friend!
Thank you! 🙏🏼🤙🏼
Yes, keep pushing 👍🏽
nice job bro ❤
Thank you!
Hi Todd, you look like you never want to get off that bike 🙂I know the feeling! I have been focusing on mannys, finally after a LOT of practice making some progress. I do practice rear wheel hops, not as many as I should (undoubtedly), but in my last few seshs I'm getting frustrated I can't hop forwards (pedal kick). I suspect I'm just not good enough at rear wheel hops yet (I can do 10-15 and some small pedal corrections), do you remember how many hops you could do before you started doing the pedal kick forwards? Thanks.
Ohhh...I'm sure Dave Niehaus was there!
great man I watch all your videos with admiration ...italia😮
Awesome! From Indonesia
Thank you! From USA 😉👍🏼
Hes more coordinated on wheels than i am on legs keep it up
🤣 thanks! 🤙🏼
You're hella rad bro, keep it up!
Appreciate it! 🙏🏼
How long have you been doing this for, this is crazy for your age.
Thanks. I started learning bike trials skills in April 2020.
Bravo! I've noticing your skills getting better and better with every video.
Thanks! I’m trying! 😉👍🏼
Good job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Mad skills! Thanks for posting.
Thanks! 👊🏼
I’m turning 40 this year and just started MTB again. This is an inspirational video for me!!

Good job!
Thank you! 🫡
@@todd_on_bikes can i ask you something, how long you ride on bike?
@@tominko6666 well, I’ve ridden bikes since I was a little kid. But I’ve been learning trials and this sort of biking since April 2020….so just over 4 years.
@@todd_on_bikes thats what i mean!you are good,good luck
man big thanks for sharing this from a beginner aspect!!! really nice tips in this tutorial! keep rolling~~
Thank you! And you’re welcome! I hope it helps. 👍🏼
I'm having my new trials bike delivered today, and was looking for inspiration on getting out there and riding it (I'm self conscious about my fitness and size unfortunately), and your videos nailed it! Thanks for sharing.
Good luck and have fun!! 👍🏼
I could’ve done that same trick myself if I didn’t have this diarrhea
🤣
Thank for being an inspiration for us , the " young people" Great example.😃😄
You make all us old guys look good.
Thanks, man! 🙏🏼👊🏼
That sound of bash to concrete is very familiar to me :) great work.. also, top song choice 👍🏻
🤘🏼😜🤘🏼
Espectacular amigo.
Muchas gracias!
great content dude i really hope you keep these reports going. i try to like and comment for each one. please keep posting as often as you can we are watching you progress and its inspiring for us!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 thank you! The views and encouragement is much appreciated!
That's some nice progression, way to put in the work.
Thanks, man! 👊🏼
Great riding Todd 🤜🏼 loving the fact you are slowly working in that front stuff 🤘🏼🤘🏼. So many amazing spots and lines!!! Keep it coming
Thanks, Kev! The front is definitely a work in progress! A long way to go!
Progress is amazing, nice control on the back wheel and the gaps are sweet 🤘, have you thought about using trials bars on the street bike ?
Thank you! Haha…no. I haven’t. But I have thought of putting Inspired high rise bars on my comp trials bike. 🤪
@@todd_on_bikes I’ve had trials bars on my inspired for a few years now, and I’ll never go bk 😂
@@GaryWoods-stunts4life interesting. Never occurred to me.
Seeing u do this in the rain is inspiring, I’d be so scared to lose grip! And i ride knobby tires!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 usually concrete surfaces are still pretty grippy in the rain. Wood and natural rock can get pretty slippery!
Perfect Development. Sometimes 4:21min a slomo would be nice 👍
I use slomos sometimes in shorts. In these quarterly reports I’m just going raw footage. 😉👍🏼
Nice
Progression is amazing dude! 🤙
Appreciate it!
you are an inspiration to me, I am 36 years old and about 3 months ago I started doing street trials, there is progress, you are good
Thank you. Stick with it and put in lots of reps and progress will come. Good luck! 👍🏼
Trials profits are up
Investors are happy, but still looking for more gains. 😉👍🏼
Eres una bestia, El proximo Martes me llega mi bike street trial de segunda mano , Deseando poder hacer algun truco, Una pregunta, ¿cuantas horas haces con la bike a la semana? Un saludo desde España amigo,me inspiras
Thank you! Enjoy your new bike! My riding time is all over the place. It depends on work and my kid’s sports. Usually somewhere between 0-10 hour per week….though rarely zero.
