I am glad that you liked my request. To be honest, I like Erik's cover more than the original. Erik won the Swedish Idol in 2009. After that he started singing for the band H.E.A.T. and later fronted Skid Row. He also got a Grammy Award nomination for his performance in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Sadly he had to step back from his musical endeavours because he was diagnosed with leukemia.

This song shares revenue, so the more people who watch the video, more money goes to Erik during this crappy time. I know Switzerland takes much better care of their sick than America does, but financial insecurity while dealing with something so life changing can profoundly effect someone's physical health. So share this as fare and wide as you can, and i will do my best to keep one of his covers in every round of filming i do. P.S. To be fully transparent, i also benefit from the ad revenue, however, the most will go to whoever owns the rights to the song, then to Erik, and I get the scraps... so while a big share will benefit me a tiny bit, it will benefit eric twice as much (i think thats how it works)

You are astute. JK has been on a stage with 6 other men for 10 years. This was his first try at solo stages and I'm sure he now understands the differences. In his defense, he was not feeling well for most of these debut performances, but I watched a performance done by Beyonce when she'd contemplated canceling the show earlier in the day. Her years of solo experience allowed her to make adjustments and pull off a stellar performance. With a few adjustments JK could have performed better. K-pop artist tend to start with their heavier choreo numbers. He'd have been better served to begin with Yes or No, move to a heavy choreo song, then to another slower paced song. An outdoor event in 50 degree weather requires you to warm up the vocal chords before doing anything strenuous. You were correct in saying he seemed unsure when on the stage alone. Hopefully, he will study those who have mastered this art and practice it himself. Jungkook has spent 10 years doing his best to never upstage the other members, he has to overcome that tendency. I think you and Kate will enjoy his indoor debut performances more. Now about K-pop fans, many believe K-pop artists are superior to Western. They usually follow groups, and often only see a one or two song solo performance from the members. It's difficult for them to hear professional observations since they're often perceived as criticisms or judgment from arrogant Westerners. These are decades old perceptions, expect to hear them often, but please continue being honest. If fans want to support JK, or any member's solo projects in the West, they must learn to distinguish between honest observations and insults. Andrew Watt & Cirkut see immense potential in Jungkook, and want to work with him often in the future, as do many Western producers. Jungkook is humble and understands that there are many things he still must learn. By giving your professional input, both he and his fans can benefit in the long run. So, Please don't change.

From the comments under this video it seems like solo stans have found your channel and I'm sorry about that. They will only praise one member of the group and sometimes put others down and also will be offended at anything you say that they perceive as incorrect (like drawing analogies to other singers, praising others who are not JK in this instance, using "incorrect" phrases or "titles" to describe him etc.). Often times they will also say that xyz member is being mistreated by their company, which is completely untrue from what the guys have said themselves and also since all of them just renewed their contracts with the company last year (for some reason the solo stans of every member like to claim this so sometimes they argue over who is being "more mistreated" 😂). They are also quite often malicious and sharp with their comments and if they say they are a fan of a specific member (in this case JK) but not the group or that they want a member to go solo and leave the group that's a huge red flag (even more so since all members have said time and time again that they want to stay together till they are old or at least as long as possible). But please ignore them. They're not part of ARMY and just an, often butthurt, subset of "fans" for a specific member of the group who like to make a lot of noise about their opinion and say really hurtful things. We don't claim them and neither does BTS, who only ever call their fans as ARMY and not some other solo fandom name.

This is from a musical segment of the video game Alan Wake 2 and there are segments of gameplay between the segments of this song where the song segment will repeat endlessly until the player discovers how to progress. The jazzy "I gotta figure it out to bring this song to its end" is a relatively short segment that repeats until the player solves a puzzle in the vicinity. Then the song finale plays.

In this case, I tried my best to make my point of view known, I didn’t want to watch him struggle with his breath. Unfortunately, many Army seem to believe that I was being mean, it’s the absolute opposite. I skipped it because i saw him struggle with his breath, and it made me anxious for him. It really was nothing more than that. I simply didn’t want to watch him struggle to catch his breath. I felt for him, I’ve been there, it sucks. I didn’t want to air it. 🤷‍♂️. Hi there! I’m so sorry I made you feel that way, I never intended for anyone to be upset with me for skipping that song. As I stated in my pinned message, it had NOTHING to do with his talent or capabilities. I simply didn’t want to watch him struggle while performing. It makes me nervous, I worry for the performer, and I feel bad that he’s struggling on such a big stage. Clearly, army loves him no matter what, but as an individual who has performed in front of a few thousand people before, it’s hard not to be empathetic to him. It was never meant to be dismissive, it was meant to be compassionate. Again, my apologies for not being clear, as you can see it hasn’t made me any friends.

Hi all! I'm sure this has ruffled a few feathers within the BTS army, and as a fan of music, i understand. With that said, rude comments will be blocked and reported. I don't have patience for rude. My point of view in this is simply a professional insight. As an audience member and a fan you will love an artist no matter what, because beyond your enjoyment of their art, you believe in them as an artist and trust in their integrity. Trust me, there are acts that could read the dictionary on stage and I would think they were brilliant. With that said, any comments on jk seeming "tired" or "winded" are not subjective, they're obvious observations without judgement. As a professional entertainer, we are taught to never draw attention to certain things, simply move past them keeping the focus on the performance, not the mishap. I skipped his performance because the teaching point was finished, i made my point from the professional perspective and moved on to the next song. I also get nervous for the performer, so watching him struggle with his breathe made me anxious for him. Again, JK is a phenomenally talented man with many years of success ahead of him. I am ONLY providing insight from a professional point of view. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.

Hey! Thank you for watching and taking your time. Of course, every respectful opinion is legitimate, but I saw things soooo differently! Maybe I'm a little biased because I really appreciate Jungkook's talent, but in my opinion this is one of the best live shows I've seen. True, the first song included very complex choreography and Jungkook tired, but pay attention - he danced *and* sang, for real. He was not just surrounded by the dancers around him, but performed all the choreography himself while singing incredibly steady... This is something you don't really see these days. Then he sang a song without choreography, to give him a moment to catch his breath. Absolutely true. But hey, did you notice the performance?... It was completely live. Not because he is not aware of himself, but because he is one of the only singers who is able to sing exactly in pitch, with enough stability, including runs and almost identical to the recording, even when he is short of breath. (Well, maybe the pronounciation is less perfect.) I saw it as a crazy ability, one of his strong points, and not as a 'poor guy'... It's very common to use background vocals and support vocals, even within Kpop. With such complex choreographies it's legit. But he barely does it. And you haven't even heard the whole song... In the other songs he returns to dancing, and again - vocals, dancing, charisma in front of an audience. He is not good at only one aspect, or devotes parts of the performance to each. He combines everything together. You really don't have to like his style! but it's so easy to admire him, because you know he's one of those people who will never let you down when the showtime comes - he's just capable of it performance-wise. I think this is the first time I've seen someone experience this differently! Again, your right. I was just surprised. Have a lovely week :)

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, and for being so kind while disagreeing with me. Allow me to reply in kind, you are not wrong. Everything you’ve listed is a factor that can easily affect his performance. What he’s doing is incredibly difficult! I also understand your tone when you mention my “professional opinion”. As a fan, it’s easier to disregard things that professionals would not. I’m not here to change your opinion on his performance, just to give you a different perspective.

This was a hastily put together concert, in 50 degree weather, in front of a huge crowd. JK said often that he wasn't 100% happy with his debut, but he was satisfied. JK says he's satisfied when he feels he has learns from an experience. He has learned how to work around solo project obstacles and will be better in the future.

I respectfully disagree with your comments about “Yes or No”. I think JK is so incredibly experienced after years playing to arenas and stadiums, that he has a natural, relaxed stage presence in songs without choreography. He is used to wandering big stages so that all sections of stadiums can see him. He’s incredibly fit (see his Calvin Klein ads from this era and you’ll get what I mean!), but he did have a cold throughout the promotions he did in both the USA and UK. If you get a chance to check out his iHeart radio performances, you can recognise what an amazing vocalist he is, particularly “Hate You” which is a ballad he did with a standing mic 💜

I hear you. I think its also a stylistic choice these days, as well. He was clearly knackered, so his breathe control was all over the place, that could have had something to do with it. It happens to all of us, sometimes a number weve been doing for years unexpectedly catches us off guard and its so difficult to get back on track.

    • @vmarie9535

Not really the issue. This was a surprise concert. He would not have time to practice since that would give away the surprise. Couple that with him not feeling well, and it being 50 degree weather on an elevated stage and you'd have a hard time also. This was not JK's best debut performance, but he did pretty well. The debut schedules were rushed since things changed once the writers strike ended. This and a few other performances were short notice additions. You should also understand that Jungkook does not speak English, so some words are difficult for him to pronounce properly. He's far from lazy so please NEVER say that again. BTW, a lot of people equate musical theater with lounge music, but still enjoy it.

Maybe for some musicians it is a stylistic choice or "lazy" but lazy is so so far from how JK and the other guys from BTS are and work. Jungkook is from South Korea. English isn't his first language. He also didn't learn it in school or sth like that. He practices it now yes, but it isn't as easy for him to sing or speak in english as it is for people who speak it as mothertongue or learned it as a kid/teen. It's still a foreign language for him. Maybe consider that as well when it comes to articulation. Maybe also check out other performances from him and/or BTS, also some in their mothertongue Korean 😊

For some in-game lore of the band, like you guessed, the guy with the hammer is Tor (Anderson), the singer is Odin (Anderson, the two are brothers), while the guitar player is Balder ("Fat" Bob Balder). There was a fourth member in the band, but currently little is known of him besides that he was Loki (Darkens),played the guitar, was at odds with the other members of the group and disappeared in 1972 if I remember correctly, with no clues to what happened to him or where he is now. Canonically, Balder died of leukemia in 1980, after which Odin and Tor retired, having released 6 albums (with the 7th being made remaining unfinished due to Balders death) during the 1970s.

Jungkook is a rare talent who has many difficult choices ahead of him. With his natural abilities he could be one of the greatest Pop/R&B artist in history, but he'll need to spend more time analyzing the greats of the past, and working with Western producers and artist who have historical, not just modern knowledge of the music industry. I'd love for him to connect with a Bootsy Collins, El DeBarge, Bonnie Raitt, Sade, Babyface, heck even Willie Nelson, lol, and the ultimate collab - Beyonce. Unfortunately, the fandom does not want him to stray further out of their comfort zone. He'll be 28 years old when he's done with enlistment, and nearly 30 before BTS completes their fan obligations. Times not on his side.

They don't view us as an enemy of the group and know we work harder than most fans (streaming, making purchases, donating, etc.) in support of a man whose talent we believe in. He's an ambitious young man, and I understand ambition. The feelings someone expresses today aren't etched in stone. All the members will be changed when they are done with enlistment since military service gives you an entirely different perspective of the place in the world. Your concern is BTS, not Jungkook.
