Thank you, gentlemen, for this much needed, principled, and informative discussion! For months now, I have been having exactly the same thoughts which you have been articulating here. Watching the horrors unfolding in the G4z4 strip - the obvious violations of international humanitarian law, the unilateral actions by my country in complete defiance of the will of the international community, and the dangerous undermining of what is supposed to be a just world order - have been terribly dispiriting. Even before I heard you mention your Catholic faith (mine too) I couldn’t help thinking how the ideas you’re espousing are totally consistent with the Catholic Church’s insistence that the dignity of the human person be at the center of all of our efforts towards establishing a peaceful and equitable social order. I have been saying over and over I don’t want to live in a world where my country flouts international law with impunity while simultaneously lecturing other nations on their obligation to keep that same law. (Rules for thee, indeed.) The idealist in me desperately wants to believe it’s possible for us humans to build a better world in which “right makes might” as Abraham Lincoln so eloquently expressed it in his Cooper Union Address. It gives me great hope, therefore, to know there are great thinkers like yourselves working to help bring much needed change to our world. God bless you in your endeavors!

No one from the main world civilizations except Western Europe and its colonies was consulted or contributed to any of the “human” rights declarations, whether at the UN or any other Western-dominated institutions. It is not a civilizational set of principles. It is in fact alien to most peoples and ignores their civilizations. It’s been used to dominate and control non-Western peoples. No matter how well-intentioned, any declaration of “universal human rights” that ignores the considerations, beliefs and desires of more than 4 out of 5 humans is neither human nor universal.

Intriguing. The concept of energy imbalance is indeed central to understanding climate change, as it directly influences the warming of the atmosphere and oceans. However, the complexity of feedback loops such as those involving cloud cover, ice-albedo, and carbon cycle dynamics-along with the resilience and adaptability of ecosystems adds significant uncertainty to predictions. There is a climate crisis threatening the sixth great extinction but the rate of that looming catastrophe is a little unclear

Why China wants a war sooner than you think? Of course. Like all autocratic governments, their main goal is to continue to stay in power. That will become more and more difficult as China's economy is tanking. Between 5 to 10 years from now, their economic situation will become unsustainable and they will then covertly start a war to rally the population around them and stay in power longer. Democratic governments would have done the same it it had benefitted them but it doesn't because they have laws controlling how long a leader can stay in power regardless of how popular he or she is.

China's statecraft's economy is going down fast. The big problem is that this is the reason why the Chinese government are acting more and more like bullies and don't care that they are called pirates. It's planned. What do authoritarian dictators fear the most? They fear losing power because then they are nobody. The longer authoritarian dictators stay in power, the more money they spend on trying to stay in power longer. This is what authoritarian governments always do before before they lose all trust of the people and lose power. They covertly start a war to rally the population behind them to stay in power longer. This is the danger for the Chinese people
