Day in my life | group art job interview, cooking, DIY project, Bay Area heatwave
zhlédnutí 57Před měsícem
What I thought was going to be a 1:1 turned out to be a group meeting, where I was invited to take an artist test just over a week later. To cope with the stress, I decided to 'cook' more, using products I brought back from Hawaii. I also found a cheap DIY solution to beat the heat during the heatwave. While it wasn't foolproof, it definitely kept my place cooler.

I've left everything in to cherish and reminisce about later. Although I've blurred a good portion of my trip for privacy, it doesn't take away from the fact that I enjoyed meaningful moments with family and friends and took the time to recharge.

The renovated PDX looks beautiful 🌳🌳🌳
Right! It’s really nice now
Lots of trees
We love your candles! Pikake scent is our fave 💕🌸
So happy to hear you’re loving them!
Still doing your thing
Is this your primary way of income. I like the hustle
@@steventercier4431 thank you! And as of now, no, but I would like it to become one one day.
@@HiChimera You should I know things are hard believe me cost of living is high. I live in Miami and 9 to 5 does not cut it anymore
@HiChimera But you doing your own thing is better you don't have to worry about anyone deciding how much your worth or how much to pay you.
@@steventercier4431 yeah, 9-5s really aren’t enough. it’s good to think about having multiple streams of income just in case something happens
@@HiChimera true I think the problem is with a lot of people. You may have a good idea but it's hard coming up with the funds to get that idea off the ground.
Good luck!!
@@jazzman7167 thanks!
Group interviews are shady, be careful giving out your personal info to unknown employers. I'm from Sacramento and the heat wave is definitely worse over here 😅
Oh really? Thanks for the heads up! Hope you’ve been able to beat the heat too!
I is a state employee working indoors, so it ain't so bad. Hey, consider state jobs?
@@delayedgratification581 Nice! I haven’t, but I’ll look into it. Currently looking within my field
What's your field exactly if you wanna share? I can check if there's equivalent state jobs for you 😎
@@delayedgratification581 thanks! Im not sure if there’d be anything available within my field there except for maybe a graphic design role
Regarding health insurance in between employments, you should be covered by COBRA for 18 months?
For my situation, my previous employer is paying my Cobra coverage for only 3 months. Afterwards, I would need to pay if I want to keep the plan
As I understand, after 3 months, for the rest of the COBRA period, say 15 months.. you can pay after the fact.. meaning pay only if you need to use health insurance.. definitely confirm this.
Sorry, to hear that you were laid-off from a job after 4-years of employment. While, I earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering was unemployed in both my 30's (after working for 7-years) and also in my 40's (after working for 12-years). So, I know what you are going through. Lifetime employment with, just one company has truly become a thing of the past. Not sure what State, you are currently living in or if renting an apartment, you have the option at the end of your lease to move in with a family member. This will help to greatly reduce your monthly expenses. Also, make sure you continue to attend trade and professional associations within your field and, please let them know at each meeting that, you are now unemployed and actively looking for work. In addition, please also apply for your State's unemployment benefits and also ask if, they have any special programs or services for professionals (smile ... smile).
Nice video!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, manifest your next job! Your breakfast looked good <3
Thanks! And I will :)
I hope things get better for you i hope you also had a rockin 4th of july
Thanks, you too!
Layoffs happen, this goes to the concept of "Average" where EVERYONE at work is your competition. "Average" is a mathematical point in the middle where half the people are "Above Average" and the other half are "Below Average", no one is "Average". While I was never the best I always strived to be in the "Above Average" half and everything worked out OK. The "Above Half" constantly picked up new skills and duties at work, received more promotions & more pay. The "Below Average" half fell behind, subject to more layoffs and lower pay. Plan for your next job to be in the "Above Average" half, let them know in the interview that is where you want to be, it is easy to spot who is above or below average, try to work with and learn from the above average employees and strive to compete.
I’ve been working for 40 years and never laid off so I agree with you.
That’s so wonderful to spend time with your family. Best wishes 🤗✨
Thank you :)
