This WILD HORSE Is CRAZY! | Taming A Wild Horse [EP 2]
zhlédnutí 1,6KPřed 14 dny
This horse is already pushing me to the absolute limits of my horsemanship! He’s taken the longest of any horse I’ve ever worked with to halter and he has been extremely resistant to my attempts to control him through body language in the pen. Progress is slower than usual but he is still learning. It looks like it’s going to be a lot harder than I expected to train this horse! Check out Horse ...

    I'm a "horse whisperer." Just like the character played by Robert Redford. Step one... I calm the stallion so that I can ride him. Step 2: on my first ride, I whisperer something encouraging into his ear. When I come back, you'd swear the horse was laughing. Step 3: after my second ride, the horse has his head down and looks depressed. I tell the ranchers that the job is done. They ask me how did you do that? I told them that they first ride out, I suggested that my penis was bigger than his. The second ride... I showed it to him. 😆🤣

    Thanks! My horse has a bigger problem with front legs tho- she kneels...and I'm always afraid that she'll injure jerself if I keep holding jer foot...so I let go- or hold the upper part of her leg so that she can't kneel...we're seeing progress but....damn- what do I do? Someone mentioned roping it like you did-but- what if she starts kneeling? When do you even leg go of the preassure with the rope???

    • @HorsePerfect
      @HorsePerfect Před 5 dny

      Hi! It’s not going to injure her to kneel unless it’s on a hard or rough surface. I would just let her kneel. By letting go of her foot when she kneels you’re teaching her that kneeling is the best way to get you to let her foot go. Instead hold onto her foot even when she’s kneeling and wait for her to stand back up and then let her foot go. Teaching her that if she stands up nicely and calmly you’ll let her foot go immediately. Soon you won’t have to let her foot go so soon and then she’ll not kneel anymore!

    This is so important but ive recently watched Warwick Schiller try somethimg different with his foals. The first time he tried it was with his now 2 year foal. He said he was one of the calmest confident foals hes had so far. He started with connection rather the imprinting. Very interesting.

    • @HorsePerfect
      @HorsePerfect Před 5 dny

      There are many different methods! If you imprint a foal and then also work with it when it’s 2 you’ll be happy you did it. If you get to 2 years old without imprinting you can’t go back and imprint them so I would say better safe than sorry!

We have put sand bags to add weight. She is not bothered by it at all. Will walk with the weight on the saddle , where we meet a wall is when I try putting my foot in the stirrup and climb up on her side , she wants no part of it and runs off….. should I just repeat/repeat. Or is there something else I should be doing …….to move forward? Thanks. Lloyd from Canada

      @HorsePerfect Před 5 dny

      Hi Lyod! Thanks for your watching! Your horse being nervous about mounting is a very common thing. Things that help are practicing leaning over onto the horse from a fence and that way the horse sees you from an elevation. Repeating trying to mount can help but you may try backing her up every Time she doesn’t stand still when you try to get on. God bless 🇨🇦 ❤️

    • @HorsePerfect
      @HorsePerfect Před 14 dny

      Actually it’s too late! There is no country without fences and wild horses always end up either dying young from disease 10-18 or they end up as roadkill. So taming wild horses gives them a better future where humans can take care of their every need and love them until they are 25+ years old. Horses enjoy being domestic if their owners are educated and take good care of them. Much better to retire old and happy than be eaten by a jaguar for the horse.

    I have a 3 year old that has been to a trainer for six months, and then sent to work cattle to get riding hours under her. When we got her she was wild and seemed traumatized and highly people avoidant. It took months and months before we could even pet her at all, and never could really really pet her. After training we could touch and pet her, but she never really got friendly. Now she's been out to pasture over the winter and won't let me touch her or be near me. She is totally avoidant. She shows no interest in connecting with anyone. I'm sure someone could catch her and she could still be ridden but I would love it if she was actually friendly and liked us. How do you do that? Do you have any videos about that, or tips? Thanks

    • @HorsePerfect
      @HorsePerfect Před 5 dny

      I need to make a video about how to get a horse to love you. Truth is every horse is different and some Love connection and some run from it even after many hundreds of hours of training you can’t train a horse to love you. And using food is just as big of a mistake. I would say put her through all the exercises in my Essential Groundwork playlist and see if she improves! She should!

      When did I say that this horse was wild? I put the Harness on her in a Cattle Chute when I bought her. So just because a horse has a harness on doesn’t mean it’s easy to get on. I do have videos with horses that are WILD and that’s when I say they’re wild. Please don’t be stupid 🙃
