Just a guy with a couple of fish tanks. This channel was created to document anything and everything to do with my aquariums, to mostly include saltwater fish and coral keeping! I hope you enjoy the ride with me on my aquarium adventures and I hope that you can learn along the way! I make mistakes so that you can learn from them.

Can you replace that watch battery
Ordering a Cade Reef 600 S2 today
Congratulations!🎉
Sea grapes can also be a very good option for land plants in the tank.
So true!
Good stuff man! I deleted my comment before as I found my question about the bowl dimensions below in the comments, but thanks for responding! You inspired me to try a macroalgae and soft coral bowl and I found everything I needed to know. Hope you upload more videos soon!
Sweet! Glad I could help! Hit me up whenever and I’d like to see your bowl!
@@SaltFishTV For sure! Going to reefapalooza california on a sunady! Can I see you there?
what skimmer
It’s just a surface skimmer
Are these the stock lights?
Yes they are
Did this work long term? I've got dreadful bubble algae in my tank that i'm losing the battle with! Did you just do the big dose at the start and then change the water after 3 weeks? Or did you dose every week? (sorry if you said on the video and I missed it)
Could you show how you use the aquachar in your media reactors
Nothing fancy, I just put it in there.
Have you uploaded the video about how to combine the 3 channels?? We know how it works but not sure how to set the lights to an effective programming
You can just program the 3 channels to be on during the same time. That’s when you get all of them on at once.
@@SaltFishTV would that be healthy for the type of soft corals I have? I have seen professionals like you, setting very carefully the lights to prevent algae growth and promote good PAR for the corals still. We would love to see how to do it. BTW, thanks for the prompt response
@SaltFishTV ?
Just don’t run it for long period of time, I run full spectrum or all 3 channels on for max of about 1.5 hours - 2.
Outstanding!!!!
The cyano didn't kill your hammer. Your zero phosphate did that. Nothing kills coral faster than zero nutrients.
I think I have an older biocube. I got it used. The light looks like it's only white and blue led. Are you familiar with this at all? And does your bio cube light have an app? It looks like mine only has the setup on top for the time with the ramp up and down plus the night blue light. I want to order sps but don't want to waste the money and kill them. Any info would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Did I already mess my cycle up? I left the carbon filter it comes with in the tank per dr Tim
Nah. It just depletes faster during the cycle and not really needed as you want the tank to get as dirty as possible for the cycle.
@@SaltFishTVok thank you for the quick reply
For some reason mine creates a ton of micro bubbles all the time, and it is more than a foot under the surface.
You can wipe it down with rubbing alcohol it’s fine
Do you have to worry your floors aren’t strong enough to hold a tabk
Luckily I’m on a concrete slab. If you have a basement or crawl space I would look into adding more supports.
@@SaltFishTV I’m asking for like a second floor
@drewgee6261 The same rule should still apply. I would get with a company to inspect
Do you know a good way to add a magnetic mount in the tank?
Also to get rid of film, tooth paste or head light kit. Or local car Detailer that cleans headlights
I wouldn’t with the risk of the chemicals going into the water
Don’t super glue screw heads. Sometimes doesn’t chip away. Just put new stainless screws. From ace. And cylicone or liquid electrical tape, works amazing
Where's your heater?
Just saw this olive snails in Seminyak,Bali today.
Do you call this a death tank out of your choice of decor with the skulls or do you think it’s a bad tank?
It’s the theme. I wouldn’t set up a tank if it’s bad.
@@SaltFishTV that’s what I thought, thanks. I just got one of these and was hoping I didn’t waste my money on something that wasn’t going to work.
@gregwilliams853 These are great tanks right out of the box!
Thanks man made it so easy and simple to understand can’t wait to start my built getting the stuff together as we speak 😂
Glad it helped!
safe with acros in my tank?
Where did you get that tank with white frame? I was looking for that kind. Thanks!
I found that one while I was living in Japan.
@@SaltFishTV it make sense white from Japan. Thanks.
What kind of led u using bro
It’s one I found on Amazon
So far i like the conch in my tank he cleaned up the sand so good
Conch snails are definitely a staple!
Why didnt u put the names in bio
Because they are in the video..
So the glue you’re using is good with our acrylic and glass
The silicone I used works well, just put a good amount on there for extra stability. When I ran it, it worked fine
Yellow tang?
Yes?
ps always use white sand pref, see you doing the black. I now gonna do the PINK or half pink half white blend myself for my Biocube setup! You gonna tweek the lighting and all? I think mine has the refugium in the back.
Won one of these a few years ago at our Aquarium club auction sale! You inspired me to get it up and going. Have a 150 gallon salt for 8 years now. The cube will be fun with smaller stuff. Any suggestions what you would do differant as far as set up and what kind of critters? BTW Dude you got some GUNS ON YA!
Ummm .. why you putting it in your main tank with out quarantine .. you’ll learn a lesson ..
Went back in your videos to watch this because im planning on getting a Dwarf lion!! thanks and hope u come back and drop some more vids
I loved my dwarf, Spike! Literally was a water puppy. Just keep being persistent on feeding.
@@SaltFishTV nice thanks alot
Love mine
Would you recommend just going ahead and adding the Biocube UV right from the beginning? And does it get ran at the same time as the cycling of the new tank?
I didn’t and don’t because you won’t always run into a bacterial bloom. I just set a tank up and I didn’t get the bloom I did like this one did. I only use it as needed and you never want to run a UV sterilizer while cycling as it’ll kill off most of your beneficial bacteria as you add it to the water column.
They scratch she easy it's disgusting
You will get a Nitrate or Phosphate spike ,or both when you treat your tank with the medication because of the algae die off that your gonna get …You can do a decent water change right before adding the medication in order to lower some phosphates and Nitrates in your tank ahead of time ..Also do a water change right after the treatment.. I used the generic version of this medication and it worked pretty damn well for Briopsis Algae ….. .. . My tank was covered in this Algae pretty bad before the treatment..
I also said this in the video.
@@SaltFishTV Water change before treatment ? Did you really ? 🤔
Stainless Steel screws.....will not rust. Hit your local hardware store ! 🙂
Eventually they will. I’ve had stainless steel hardware on previous tanks start rusting.
Nobody ever takes into account that most led light upgrades on the Biocube are mounted 10 or more inches away from the water surface. What sense does it make to buy a larger light that uses more electricity and then mount it a foot above the water surface? People forget that PAR readings are greatly higher the closer one gets to the leds.
Yes! These lights are great right out of the box!!
If I make any mods to my brand new Biocube's light it will be to supplement the spectrum with more blue leds. But that's a far cry from ripping the cover off and removing the stock light and replacing it with a new grow light 8 to 10 inches above the water surface. I don't think a lot of reefers realize how bright the stock light is on a biocube led. I plan on keeping the cover on my Biocube 32. I admit that as of now I have no real experience with a Biocube, I'm still researching it. @@SaltFishTV
Will this treatent hurt shrimps and pistol shrimps?
At the time of treatment I had cleaner shrimp in my tank and they weren’t affected at all.
i seen this on amazon, but it is unclear what it comes with, What does it come with?
Tank, return pump, media tray, stock filter pad, and the lid with LEDs. Stands are sold separately along with the heater.
Hello, can you tell what light you have above your tank please ?
I'm confused, I got my 1st saltwater aquarium (or 1st aquarium of any kind) in December 2023 & I've already got 5 fish 16 coral & a feather duster, hermit crabs & snails & a fire shrimp and I never had your problems. In fact, my 32-gallon bio-cube is doing great. I did get a little black Alge growing on the sand but then I dropped my 5th fish (sleeper-banded Goby) in & it cleaned that up right away. How long have you been doing this?
Every tank is different as there’s so many variables to consider. Every ecosystem we create in tanks will be different. There’s so many factors such as what was used in the tank and how it’s running. I’m very happy that you’re having success as that’s what it’s all about! Keep it up! Just Reef!
No kids when you're putting the little spacer for the last bubble trap. Don't silicone that whole plate in place. Silicone 4 tabs in place and let that rest on top of it, so you can remove it.
I really need to get my rodi hooked up. It’s been sitting still wrapped and new on my floor since Oct. LOL. Finally, bought a 10g BRUTE this weekend so maybe this is my kick in the butt to hoop it up now
Hey, are you still just running the stock led lighting in your Biocube? I still have mine but about to add a LEDUSA blue roof bar. For more blues. Love watching your vids
All stock!
