I watched a video some time ago about good dialogue vs bad dialogue, and they compared the somber profound less is more kind of approach from the Netflix show Castlevania when Alucard and Dracula meet again, to the "what is a man?" scene, so I just think it's funny how over the top and out there Dracula is here, sure it fits with his character, but I find it funny more than anything, and that seems to be the general consensus

I have become fascinated by Elfen Lied again recently due to watching Re:Zero for the first time. The reason being is because episode 15 of re:zero introduces a villain called betelgeuse. betelgeuse is utterly insane. the episode as a whole is amazing, animation, the plot and music espeically. betelgeuse has a certain power that allows him to use invisible hands, to which he demonstrates a use of this power by contorting and mutilating one of the main side characters in front of the main character, suburu. The very moment the character was lifted from the ground and twisted, the grotesque sound effect took me straight back to elfen lied. As the season goes on (as well as the rest of the series) we find out more about betelgeuse and his power. It really makes me think how much potential lucy could of had. even though betelgeuse and lucy are two completely different characters, they are villains who at their core, were innocent. Efen Lied as a whole, could have been written so much better and had so much potential that is evident in its backstory. the only thing i praise elfen lied for is the song lilium because of how it stuck with me for so many years and through each listen, stirs something inside me that used to disturb me, but now soothes and satisfies me due to how much i listen and adore the song.

What really convinced me that this was autistic coded was the zipline sketch from the new season. That was SO me as a child😂 very little masking, just there to do my thing✨🥰💅

I can think of so many examples. Patti Harrison’s reaction in the sketch about ‘Santa coming early’ to bring an office a new copy machine is so real, I relate heavily. I often get confused and frustrated when people don’t get my jokes but laugh at really bad ones to be polite. Or the one where one friend insists an intervention happens at her house and it turns out to be the Garfield house. In the new season where Tim is a contestant on a dating show and he doesn’t participate because he just wants to use the zip line into the pool all day. Every sketch tbh.

I really hope the original manga gets an English print someday. I don’t think it’ll ever happen, but seven seas “Manga Classic Collection” takes chances in historically important manga that isn’t appropriate to todays standards and I could see it fitting in that brand.

Awww man, I actually fell for the Kangaroo Jack and Snow dogs con! I remember seeing the trailers for them, and being so excited to see the movie. Then I popped it on with my parents, and was SO confused and disappointed by the lack of animal talking. Was so bummed out. Though, probably the biggest lying trailer moment for me, has to be Bridge to Terabithia! Every trailer in the world was marketing it like it was a Narnia-esque adventure movie. What we got instead was a bittersweet story about a growing friendship that ends with a tragic death. I am shocked Disney didn’t get sued for that one.

There are just few trailers that are totally con. Like this movie i saw which had just one scene that did look professional which was in the trailer. Just few days ago i saw this movie It Is A Wonderful Knife. Take a look at the trailer and see the con there.. Justin Long is in there..for like 10 minutes. There are gay males and gay females kissing in there..with other gays also being in the movie. The main star is a woman (a lesbian actrice also) where in the end it turns out she is a lesbian.

Subverting expectations for entertainment like TV shows & movies can be a double edged sword for most. Surprising the audience can be fun, but you shouldn’t go overboard with it. Although for me I don’t always mind it, as I tend to be more laid back on that department. Never heard of Terminator 2’s twist being hid from the ads. Last time I checked the ads for that movie were infamous for spoiling the twist that Arnie’s character was the hero this time. What’s going on here? Did the amount of spoilers depend on the ad or region?

Continue: director Tom Holland said in an interview that he didn’t like the original trailer for fright night 85 due to the voice over trailer guy oversold the horror of the movie when it had elements of comedy and the trailer showed way too much of the horror instead of saving it for the movie. I agree with Holland I also hated it the way the trailer misrepresented the tone of the movie when they could have shown some of the comedy instead of the horror.

In the trailer for ghostbusters 84 Venkman was going on about being the chairman of the largest paranormal removal company in America whilst investigating Dana’s apartment in the movie that scene was an reshoot. Inconsistencies in the trailer to ghostbusters two 1989. Ray outside with the mayor going about if you don’t do something fast you let New York get sucked down to the tenth level of hell in which it didn’t appear. The unfinished scene in the courtroom where the female attorney gets dragged out of the room with SFX missing. Back to the ghostbusters 84 trailer using an unreleased song instead of the iconic theme by Ray Parker but sadly the song used can’t be found on any soundtrack or anywhere on the internet far as I know the one I was about the variant trailer. The trailer for the remake to my bloody valentine said about the immersive 3D experience is available in cinemas when most Uk cinemas didn’t show 3D movies so lionsgate got fined by ASA for misleading advertising and got forced to take it down and replaced it with an new trailer by stating only in selected cinema’s.

Other examples: Cool As Ice, the vanilla Ice film, advertised itself as having Naomi campbell. She is in a dance sequence at the very beginning and that's it. Catfish: my date and I thought that we were going to see a found footage horror film. We kept waiting for everyone to wake up in the basement getting tortured or whatever. That never happened and we walked away disappointed. Neither of us had cable television, so neither of us found out until much much later that the film was supposed to actually be real, and not just a found footage style film.

You never saw the T2 trailer did ya! It 100000% spoiled the movie

In 2006, the remake of Black Christmas not only underwent massive reshoots and alternate endings. But Harvey Weinstein also demanded they shoot new scenes just so that they could be included in the trailer. These scenes did not end up in the actual movie. Paranormal Activity 3 also had 90% of it’s trailers not contain scenes from the actual movie.

I'm old enough to have experienced T2 at the time of release, and it wasn't a secret that Arnie played the hero, it was known well ahead of production even starting, with early reports on his negotiations with Cameron talking about ludicrous paycheques and how he (Arnie) didn't want to play a villain because he was considering running for political office at the time and worried about the optics. There were also a lot of clips and images of Arnie alongside Ed Furlong used in promotion, as well as most previews explicitly talking about the shape-changing T-1000 being the villain, so there was little to no chance of people being surprised at the T101 being the hero.

Another classic "I've never thought about it like that." I wish I could have experienced T2 as intended, but that was the first one I knew about when I was young. A shame, because I could see that swerve being incredible! Thanks for making this
