Well I came here to say the same thing, drive shaft goes clockwise, but I also noticed that the screws appear to be tightening when going counter clockwise, and unless they are reverse thread, there is some voodoo camera work going on that has made the representation of everything look backwards, even relative to the housing. Idk how this happened, but can still say for sure, make sure the driveshaft is going in the clockwise direction during impeller install and the fins bend accordingly. Thanks for the video!
yes when i changed the camera view to put on the tripod it makes things look backwards unfortunately
I have a 95 mustang with a powerglide and I want to use the factory auto shifter, What linkage do I need??? any Ideas would help! Thanks!
I don't know but if you find a ford forum they could most likely help you
Thanks for sharing, now I'll have a good idea what to do when I attempt to change mine!
cool idea
What filter does it take?
depends on the brand best to call where you buy parts from
Same problem with mine and probably ever RAV of that era. One of the few bad designs on the car.
yes its must be common i think the issue is the rubber gasket gets soft and sticks on that hvac door
Where you able to determine if this did indeed fix your idle issue from before you replaced it?
HI cant really say one way or the other this motor has never really idled real smooth maybe its normal not sure thanks for the question
Oh thank God
What does adjusting this do? Im trying to diagnose an early shift even at WOT
It's nice to know I'm not the only one with transmissions in the living room!
How did you remove the fluid fill tube?
the dip stick tube is held in with a 0 ring then bolted to the bell housing
Is it backwards thread or is this video reverse image?
Hi yes the video makes it look backwards .clockwise to tighten the band
This video helped a ton but now I’m having issues with the part that opens and closes the door you talk about at 2:52 min. It’s not turning but nothing looks broken or off
Hi can you move that door by hand without the cable attached ,I think the whole issue with this control and door is the black rubber seal its like it deteriorates and gets sticky causing to have to use too much force to turn the knob breaking the cable i removed some of that seal seemed to help
Qual marca desse braco curvo
A little more talking please! And maybe a side of confidence!!!!!
It’s self explanatory
Thanks for the reviewing the product. That's disappointing.
Ack. You skipped the seal removal and went to the seal reinstall.
Ya editing a video is a pain in the ass
Okay, next the fun part.
I got a 2 speed in my 66 and it shifts fine into first but it never hits that second shift
Hi not sure what could cause that so as you drive it wont shift into 2nd
Thanks for this! I was thinking maybe air hammer but this is safer LOL!
Looks great bud
thanks
How hard was it to get the drive shaft off? My seal is leaking as well. Any torque specs for the seal housing and what kind of grease did you use?
Hi the drive shaft came off easily I used wheel bearing grease I don't have torque specs
@@MrKalicat thanks!
Didn't see the band adjustment screw being torqued to 70 inch lbs. Saw another video stating 80 in lbs and then back off 3 1/2 turns. Now I'm confused.
HI according to the manual i was using it says 70 in lbs. or snug then back out 4 turns
I'm having trouble pushing the caps on far enough to get the whole groove for the clips to slide in. Is it possible a bearing pin slid to the bottom of the cap preventing it from bottoming out? Or, could I have bent the yolk slightly and now it's slightly crooked and blocking the groove? I've now resorted to using my 20 ton shop press (avoiding yolk) and still can't push the caps on far enough to be sure the clips are fully in the groove. They slide on but I'm not sure they're all the way in the groove. Am I really going to buy a new u-joint (maybe even a yolk) and start over? Or, can I install it and see what happens?
Hi those are all possibilities but i would say that if the clips seem to go on tap the clips with a punch to see if they move or spin or seat themselves. i would install it before buying new parts just keep an eye on it
Using after market parts you didn’t save one of labor you added another hour of labor as you will be doing it again
Get parts were to get
I got the parts from rock auto
Thank you for the How To.
Sometimes they come out easy other times not so easy. I had to heat mine up before. Great video
I did mine two years ago. Sad thing I went with the Polaris dealers mid range uni’s. They didn’t last a year. And we know we don’t drive these quads every day. I have 6000km and have to replace an unbelievable amount of parts. Won’t buy another.
Правильно говорил Задорнов тупая нация эти американцы
whats that part number?
dorman #38404 it is not an exact fit
Could you take a round file and put a groove in the plug inline with the entry hole allowing a better flow of fuel into the float chamber?
I should have taken a pic of it before i put the 2 washers on it block the opening quite a bit more i don't think it blocked enough to affect operation .the treaded part didn't really block much if anything the part with the o ring did . so i thought that the washers were the easiest way without modifying the part
What made you change your mind & drill the hole?
I thought it was secure it better just incase it might come loose
Looks like either when it was assembled the hex hole wasnt lined up with the hex on the shaft or the nut loosened up and slowly wore out the hex hole. Id recommended some threadlock when you install the new nut.
it was installed by a dealer
Relatively easy fix. Well done.
Great solution for a common problem.
will have to see how long it lasts
radiator shops test radiators and heater cores at 20 lbs not 40 lbs
What compression to you get on that motor?
I never checked the compression
I got a 2 speed in a 62 impala, and between first and second it’s almost like it goes into neutral and the rpm’s will surge then shift over the course of like 3-5 seconds. Wondering if it’s a fluid issue
Hi I'm no transmission expert I dought its fluid unless it's low is the fluid dark maybe clutches I would check fluid level if good it may need to come apart
How do you reinstall the springs? I'm in the process of changing the track on my 1986 skandic and I have the same suspension. Wondering how to reassemble... Thanks!
All that work versus what cost to have a tire shop install the tubes? Cost can’t be that much can it?
But a man doesn’t hire someone to do a task when they are able bodied an can just do it themselves.
So i have a 3 speed power glide it has the 1st 2nd 3rd and then drive but if i try to put it in first it will just be in second but if i put it in drive it will run all 3 gears
3 speed power glide i thought they were only 2 speed
@MrKalicat well, I might be mistaken. Then my bad, it used to be my grandfather's build, and It had a Muncie 4 speed in it, andI was told the one in the back was a powerglide, and I just put it on
Is there a band adjuster behind the cooler lines or an x on the pan? It may be a th250, it was a lighter duty version of the th350
Crickets is all you’ll hear about this subject, I can’t even find a company that knows anything about matching old part numbers to new numbers. I’ve been looking for an inner half sheave for an older model “2009”and I’m about to go postal on somebody.
Hi i ordered my parts from Revco .ca if that helps at all .
I have ‘68 Chevy Van in the process of restoration. previous owner changed some things around on the leaf spring setup. I want to get the van back to it’s original leveled stance. love what you’re doing with your van.
Thanks. good luck with your restoration .make some videos
How long does it take you and how much did you save?
less than an hour saved 1 hour of labor and used aftermarket part not sure how much i saved
looking too replace the heater core in my 65 chevy van any ideas ??????
Hi Rick i don't know if there is a heater core available for the 65 i know there isn't for my 67 so i repaired mine twice but its leaking again so i plan to take it out and try to match one as close as possible most likely have to modify the piping some how .or get it re cored its a easy job to remove at least .
@Grease Monkey Garage yea I was afraid of that
Looking good Grease Monkey! Thanks for the shout out, much appreciated! Grease coming out the top of that king pin is normal. Send me your address and I'll mail you some grease seals ;>).
Hi thanks for the offer but i live in Canada so I'm sure the shipping would be expensive .
I got mine too ! Mark and Mike are great !!
good job
looking foward to a follow up i think it may attract dust and dirt
