Every time I try to fill my converter completely, ink gets wasted due to extracting air bubbles (similar to your experience). I think leaving some space in the converter might help prevent ink waste.😊

I bought one and I love it for doodling. I haven’t had any problems and I bought three more. It just takes a little patience and strength to get the cartridges down all the way.

I HATE Rome Burning with a passion unknown by man before I did that ink swab. I keep it around just so I can give it the stink eye every time I open my ink cabinet. Haven’t tried the other one. 😂

I've used Moleskine notebooks for almost 20 years before ditching them due to the frankly indecent quality of their paper, I now mostly use Leuchtturm and Fabbriano notebooks, they are cheaper and of much higher quality, especially for fountain pens.

What do the quality control stickers mean?

I am certain that moleskine is aware of these issues. I am stunned they do very little about it. It was a FP friendly product in 2014-15

This ink was my go to ink for almost a decade. I love how it goes from an orange yellow to a nice red with a flex nib.

I just purchased the Green Marble version at the St. Louis pen show. The material is absolutely mesmerizing. It was a hard choice between the colors. The red kept grabbing my attention but in my heart, the green was it for me! Thanks for the review.

I was ERH 1453. A friend of mine sees it as Orange. I have gone through 2 1/2 bottles in every, every Noodler's pen, except Nib Creeper. It has ONLY ever shown RED. Perhaps, i need new friends?🤔

Where did you get your onion skin notebook?

I think these papers are ok to write on as long as what you write on it is to be kept, because they will turn yellow within a year or two under the best circumstances.

Where do you switch for the other folders? Doss the alpha have that?

I live in Europe and I didn't understand why Americans used copy paper as the benchmark for crappy paper since the standard paper we use here will handle most inks in an M nib just fine, this changed the moment my company got us a stock of excess copy paper from our subsidiary in Chicago and fuck me is it bad, it feathers and bleed even with rollerball pens!

You should try and get the inks noodlers did showing jews with devil horns. The owner thought there was more antisemites who would be ink buyers. They had a helicopter on the back in reference to how south american dictators would throw students out of helo's to murder them. Fun stuff! Great inks for drawing swastikas.

I picked up Boralis black when I was in college because I really wanted a super black black ink, but I fully admit that it may not have been the greatest choice. It was super messy - very wet, slow to dry, dissolved in water (and sweat). I used it as a daily ink anyways, because that was how much I liked the contrast on the page, but it made for smudges on all my notes and all over my hands.

Ugh! Maybe I'm in the minority but that latency in typing vs. letters showing up on the screen would drive me crazy. Its like when MS Word MS Outlook starts to crash and freak out and when your typing shows up after a few seconds. This would feel like that situation constantly. This device feels so much like a first world privilege bullshit...whereas a poor person in a poor country might be abel to write on paper or a used typewriter or heck even a $200 laptop running microsoft word....here we need a "dedicated e-typewriter" to help get rid of distractions. Sigh!!

Ha, for that EXPENSIVE PRICETAG, those writing devices should come CUSTOM-MADE for the customers! If I were gonna ORDER one, I would ORDER MINE to be all BLACK with BRIGHT WHITE letters on the BLACK typing keys. I would ORDER mine with BRIGHT WHITE letters because I have BAD EYESIGHT. Are the screens BACKLIT? What about PRICE-REDUCTION COUPONS?

Now I like the LOOK of that Freewrite model because it's all BLACK! I just HATE white typing keys! That's what I don't like about the other Freewrite models-----that and the EXPENSIVE pricetag!

How’d you add the shimmer?

I haven't tried the USS Texas ink yet, but I love the Texas Black Bat. It is also very waterproof and got even blacker after I got it wet while scrubbing it with a Q-Tip.

moleskine is for pencil, not fountain pen ...not even gel or rollerballs ....the sell their own pencils & a ridiculous sharpener

It lags. That's a problem, and why should that even happen. Too expensive. If you can't disipline yourself to work without distracting yourself, doesn't that mean you need to work on that problem.

I knew the Alpha had multiple issues before it arrived at my doorstep. Thankfully, I didn't experience the wiping of the internal files, like so many had. I received it and updated it right away and never had any kind of issue with it (and I use it a lot). As to the screen, I think it is small but I use it mostly on my lap and from above, you can see the screen pretty well. I do not like to have it on a desk because the angle doesn't help that much. I don't think this might be a problem for tall people, but I am tiny and my eyes did strain a bit. I own a freewrite machine (the special edition) and of course that's a better device, but I really favor the Alpha overall. I really like the keyboard (especially) and that it is light and portable (it is like carrying and iPad). I really like the quick refresh rate and typing, for me, it's easier on the Alpha because the keyboard is flat, as opposed to the freewrite machine, which has the keyboard at an steep angle and I have to have it tilted, otherwise I can't write as fast as I would with a low key profile board. Another thing that I like about the Alpha, is that is real quiet when typing. I hate, HATE, the freewrite typewriter. It is way too noisy. I think it all depends on what you are looking for.

The cost was astronomical to get one of these dark beauties to me in Australia, but I placed an order anyway and can't wait to receive it. Thanks for the review! It was great to see one on video before purchasing.

I just ordered one through their site with a $34 off coupon code and $16 shipping a total of $632.55 after shipping/taxes. I am completely excited to use this as I prefer a raised keyboard, I often don't look when I type, and rather than have Grammarly blasting me with squiggly lines I hope to pump out first drafts and keep my creative flow without breaking it. This seems like the perfect tool for someone with ADHD like myself. I hope the connectivity with the wifi is good enough for backing up documents. Note: You gave the same reasons as me for desiring this machine. I will be satisfied with my purchase, I am sure of it. Also gives me more incentive to write cause now I'm more invested. I hope a cute girl will conversate with me because of my Freewrite, and end up falling in love and married. One could hope that is.

Do a 2024 update!

I use composition books, staples wire bound books and a Yuree book I get from Amazon. Each one is different. I like how my pens write so differently on each one of these. I find those expensive papers like Clairefontaine and Rhodia like writing on plastic and I don’t like them.

I have the Alpha and the Traveler and find that the Traveler keyboard is much quieter. I was surprised how loud the Alpha was when I got it (that spacebar, ugh).
