I'll correct you: It's not "moun nwè, it's moun nwa." Saying "nwè" is offensive in Haiti. And what, I think, you wanted to say is that Haiti has influences from Europeans... yeah, we do.

I was very into the video until you said that creole ain’t got nothing to do with Africa, well, I'm going to say it does. In Haiti, we speak 2 type of creole, creole francized, and just creole. the francized one is the one the books are written in and also the one you are forced to speak to sound proper and educated. The one we shit on is the one our ancestors made to use to speak in front of the slave masters without them knowing what we're plotting and this kind of creole is spoken in the countryside of Haiti. Thanks for your video I'm proud of your work, keep it going we Haitian love you.🇭🇹❤️🥰

Hey Anderson! I agree with you, there’s two types of creole, and the one closer to french is seen as 'better' than the other (even though it isn’t). It’s my understanding that white masters spoke creole too, therefore it wasn’t really a 'secret language' used by enslaved people. Creole has a lot to do with Africa, just not as much as some linguists like to believe! A lot of vocabulary comes from West African languages, but not the syntax. For example, it’s been proven that a lot of the grammatical structures found in french creoles all over the world comes from the french that was spoken in the region where the majority of the colonizers came from, and not from any particular african language. Just look at the creoles from Île Maurice and Haïti: their grammar is very similar, although the enslaved people came from two different coasts of Africa. The common variable is French, not a shared African grammar. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! 🤍 and thank you for your comment
