ESP LTD Viper 301 Plays Dio Era Black Sabbath Neon Knights thru HX Stomp
Plays like buttah even though it’s strung-up with 11’s. There’s some damage to the rear lower bout edge that is not noticeable from the front. The stock pickups sound pretty good - one could do a lot worse for an SG variant. Squint very hard and the fretboard inlays could pass for Iommi style crosses.

These are four of my favorite delays for self-oscillation sounds. The sound of a degrading delay in to a distorted/fuzz tone can be mesmerizing. The way the notes trail off and mutate in some pedals is much better than others - see for yourself.

Offbeat shred machine that runs away from the insanely thin necks of the era that inspires it, sporting a beefy neck profile to go with the super high-output bridge pickup. Body and electronics from 1976. Neck from 1979. The neck was refretted with true jumbo frets by Philtone Guitar in Baltimore - one of the best. Could tell it was a fake by the pick up rings they are supposed to be painted to match the picture why didn't they make it like that? Anyways it sounds good and it's not a bad price for what you get.

Sure. A new player will need to invest some time into viewing utube tutorials about setting up a Floyd Rose tremolo properly. Start with light strings.

I have this exact model, I had to change the Floyd too as the post edges had deteriorated
Save the old one! You can probably Dremel those edges back to a usable shape - they are very good bridges. Some of the larger Ibanez locking trems featured replaceable knife edges where the trem meets the post. Even the non-locking Ibanez trem bridges from this era sound better then many modern models.

@@pauldudeuk Setup a search on ebay and hope for the best. To be honest, those strap buttons look better than they work. Most straps have a vertical cut in the strap that allows the button to slip-through if it catches the boomerang tip. If it's a stage guitar, I replace them.

A real shame that this easy-locking tremolo system was litigated off the market.
I had a 1994 Fender American standard with maple fretboard aka " Blackie" strat end up trading it because another luthier had sanded down the frets
Ugh. Too bad - these 94's sport one of my favorite Fender strat necks ever. Don't tell anyone, but my other favorite strat neck is on 90's Aria Fullerton. Killer strat variant for less than $300.

Surprisingly beefy U profile as I recall. Not at all like the ultra thin Ibanez 550-style shredder necks.

The "power" pickups in these guitars are better than the "Qauntam" pickups.

Sorta. Plugged straight into the HX Stomp with the 2204Lead patch. That’s it. The GL guitars have very hot pickups, which are a big part of this sound.

The GH600 model has EMG pickups and is neck-through design. I would spend the extra scratch on one of those rather than mod this to try to be a GH600.

Got one few days ago. Came scratched so I am going return it. 23 model year has floyd rose special, ESP LH-301 pickups. 9-42 strings. Made in Indonesia. Da*n. I even ordered EMG JH set for that KH-202.
