Territory Wildlife Park and Berry Springs | All you need to know
This week we take the truck to the Territory Wildlife Park and Berry Springs. The kids have an AWESOME time at both!
The Territory Wildlife park is a must do activity especially if you have kids. I thought it would be like a zoo, but it's more like a collection of the main habitats you find in the Top End, making it easy to experience them all in one day. And the bird of pray show is so good!
Next up we explore Berry Springs and see what it has to offer. Another great day out floating through spectacular forests in warm spring fed water. What more is there to life?

This week we are absolutely gobsmacked by the stunning beauty of Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) and Leliyn (Edith Falls). Take a boat ride with us as we explore the Nitmiluk Gorge and then take you up to the hidden pools in the upper falls at Leliyn.
Everything Breaks! So we head off for a swim at Bitter Springs and Mataranka Thermal Pools.

In order to fix our broken water tanks, we make a bee line for nearest fabrication shop on our route ... which is 1000km from where they broke! On the way, we check out Daly Waters pub, have a dip at Bitter Springs and are completely blown away by the kindness of generosity of strangers. What a week in our House Truck Life!

This week we take the Savannah Way from Hell's Gate in QLD to Borroloola in the NT. AND IT BREAKS OUR TRUCK! We stay at Hell's Gate Roadhouse and visit Dill Doll Rock Cultural Area and are amazed by it's beauty. We haul up for another stunning free camp on the Foelesche River with our buddies in their Unimog who are also making the most of having a house on a 4x4 truck!

Save for your trip! Is this one of the best free camps ever? Gregory Downs on the Savannah Way in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Australia. The water is so soft and warm and flowing endlessly, even in the dry season!

Come see this spectacular gorge with us! We take the truck and the kids to Carnarvon gorge. The beauty of this place really blow us away. Aria and Nova attempt their first 10km (6mile) bush walk and achieve success!

We've been building this House Truck for more than 3 years. And this is our first night on the road! This house truck is like nothing else available at the moment. A tiny house built on a 4x4 truck. We hit our FIRE number and we pulled the pin! Our plan is to take this thing everywhere and show our girls this spectacular country. Please give us a like and subscribe to follow our journey!

You guys deserve way more subscribers! I first followed you because I want an RV with a rear deck just like yours (maybe not so big a truck for a single guy lol) - but now I really enjoy just watching a "normal" family doinh normal but fun things, in a lifestyle that avoids the damned rate race! PS - I HAVE to remember that drop-down bike rack! Safe and happy travels from a Kiwi.

That won't come off! I remember a little while back the fuel cap fell off?? Now the awning being left out! Ah well, cest la vie. ...and that (Ado?) yeah, he's a bloody legend! I'd still choose your life over living in a 9-5 job any day guys! Happy travels 🙂

Haha gold! Yeah we hard wired most things to automatically close and lock when we turn on the ignition, but not the awning lol

Good vid BUT why do people insist on putting there stupid stickers on every bloody sign they see, I'll be taking a can of spray paint when I hit the road later, keep travelling, cheers
We don’t have stickers, but I kinda like the community input. Maybe councils could put up dedicated sticker signs 😂

Hahaha yeah we isolated the broken one at the time so down to half capacity, but we soon ran into a spot of bother with the 2nd tank too, next week!
Good and healthy to let the kids explore on their own a little bit more each time.
Yeah we really want to grow resilience in our kids.

0:35 all that solar on the roof is a great idea. I have 14' van (!) with 1.2kW of solar and 3 X 300aH Lithiums - but I do live and work on the road.
Lots of solar and batteries makes all the difference! We run 4.3kw of solar and a 15kwh battery setup. Runs everything a house needs comfortably
@@HouseTruckLife 15KW of battery? 15,00 Watts of battery? Watts = Volts x Amps. So, you have 1,250Ah of battery? Good choice.
@@stuartkcalvin 15 kilowatt HOURS of battery storage. We run a 48v system, so that’s 15000 / 48v = 312AH at 48v or the equivalent of 1250AH at 12v

That deck is definitely a must! It just adds so much extra to the truck. I'm looking at horse trucks here in NZ, which I can adapat accordingly. I also want one side to slide out maybe a metre just to give that etra bit of room (I think I have mild claustrophobia lol). Am thoroughly enjoying your adventures family!

A deck is a must! Those guys are great, but you can definitely do better. We kept everything automated by design. Watching that video, it takes them 10mins just to get the stairs out! If you’re planning a build, make sure you keep it easy and quick to set up because you won’t use it if it’s a struggle. I saw in one of their vids they had to run the truck to charge up their power 🤦♂️ We’re hoping to get a walk through vid up soon for more details - stay tuned!

Thanks for posting your link in the nomad group! We are looking at the big lap in a few years time when our girls are older and self sufficient (they are 15 and 18 years now and have travelled with us since they were 4 and 5 months old) so really keen to follow your adventures. We have travelled extensively but only for 2-3 months at a time so far due to life constraints. Big plans to change those constraints now though. Good luck with your trip, looking forward to following you and getting some tips.
