The 4070 Ti is a great card, but I think it's not a big enough uplift to justify the price? I'm not saying it's not worth it, but if you're looking for max value for dollar, the 4070 Super MSRP cards like the FE are the value play. It's...

      I realize this. The point was to show you don't have to touch any of that. You can simply go to the power settings and change the values to whatever you want. The point of this video was to show people to manually control the chip with whatever values they want manually and giving them more granular control. Auto sucks and you should always tune manually.

Even the few test I did before latest BIOs update still got into the 90c temp range with your settings. Is it possible it is a bad CPU or more likely to be cooling issue. You can use a manual voltage sure. The reason you don’t really want to do that is because that be comes a constant voltage. Offset mode allows the voltage to drop very low while on idle or spike back up high clock/low load or drop for high clock/high load. Using a manual voltage on these modern CPUs makes very little sense IMO.

    • @TalonsTech
      @TalonsTech Před 11 dny

      97c while gaming or just loading the game. If those are actual gaming temps, something so wildly wrong. Either your fans are set too low, your pump isn’t at max speed, or you have poor contact with the CPU IHS. Those temps are not normal even for a 240mm AIO. I would recommend you get at least a 360mm AIO. One made for LGA 1700 and use a quality thermal paste or pad. If you can’t do that, have you tried undervolting a bit? If this doesn’t work, use Intel “Performance” defaults which are 125 long /253 short and 307 ICC Max. This might cause a bit of CPU power or current throttle in games but your temps should improve a lot.

I now have it rock solid with PL1 and PL2 at 265 and temps are cool as even with constant heavy load. I also put a 360 AIO cooler and new case in to boot and the system runs warm, not like a crashing toaster any more. I'm actually very disappointed with the motherboard manufacturers as I want a rock solid system, not push it with OC and crashing. This is on them and its wrong. • @TalonsTech
      @TalonsTech Před 17 dny

      Simply setting 253/253 and 400A will not cause the game to crash unless you previously used a lower limit, or you copied my undervolt which is not recommended. Never copy anyone elses undervolt as silicon lottery determines your own chips ability. But simply setting 253/253 and 400a should not cause any issues unless again you previously used a lower limit and somehow can't cool 253w. If you're crashing, you could use 307a instead of 400a. 307a is Intel "Performance" recommendation. This maybe cause some CPU throttle under even gaming loads, though it will be minimal.

    What about the Setting "Unlimited ICCMX"? Shouldnt this be also disabled, so it wont take more than 400amps? Or is it enough to set the Max limit to 400?

    I was with you until about 24:20. Then you lost me. I have a stock gs66 stealth 10sf. I did a system benchmark test from userbenchmark's website and it said everything was great except my RAM which was in the bottom 6th percentile and I should try enabling xmp. Which is what I was trying to do. But I'm just beyond confused now. 😢 Also my bios doesn't have gear 1 or 2 option...

      10th gen does not have a gear modes. It uses DDR4 in Gear 1 all the time. 11th gen introduced gear modes for the IMC. For real gains with 10th gen GS66 you need to use DDR4 Samsung B-Dies. You can find this out by looking at the memory ICs and seeing if they are Samsung, or by using CPU-Z and looking at the SPD tab.

    hi good video question have an asus z790 e gaming wifi ll and i9 14900 k at the beginning HWMonitor showed high mhz on p-core 5900 mhz as I remember it but after I have updated the bios it is only at 2300mhz on p-core is it not wrong and why?

    • @TalonsTech
      @TalonsTech Před 19 dny

      2300 all the time? Something is clearly wrong. It's normal for the CPU to throttle around when on balanced mode (always use this on a modern PC). It should clock up and down and that is totally normal. It will go to full clocks (if no limits) when needed and throttle back when just idling to save power.

    This is a huge black eye to Intel/motherboardmakers. No buyer should go thru all this to make the product work properly.

    I did what was suggested in this video. No matter what, my i914900k hits 100c pretty quick during a cinabench multi core test. Also, it sais utilization is 150% +. Any suggestions?

      Curious, which cooler are you using, what ambient temps? Which motherboard and what is your SP score? If you clamp to 253w PL1/PL2, there is almost no reason your cooler can't keep it sub 90c. Things that can hurt temps are high ambient temps, low fan speeds, low pump speed, bad cooler contact, bad thermal paste. It's entirely possible you aren't running your pump or fans fast enough. You might also not have the proper LGA mounting offsets and leading to poor or bad contact pressure. Lots of variables and difficult for me to answer. But my 14900KS SP105 with an Asrock Motherboard and 360mm AIO LFIII also cools the chip perfectly at 253/253w with temps maxing around 80c.

    I was hitting 330w with my new 14900K. Mostly all default settings with the Asus Strix Z690-E. I locked vcore to 1.25. I set it to the best-case scenario, disabled all the E cores, and locked all the P cores to 5.5. I set load line to 3.
