GET LOWER!!!! F100 Frame Arch modification

The stock arch height on the F100 frame wouldn't allow the truck to sit as low as I wanted. To fix this I designed and installed new rear frame arches to allow the truck to sit 4 inches lower.

@@solereaver2973 your welcome. I didn't find a lot of fitment for the gtst and thought it would help others.
Don’t laugh at me, but I used an old trampoline piping. They are all bent and one end is crimped to fit inside. I just cut the big end to measure and twisted them to make it fit. Then I took it to the muffler shop. My welder is. Lincoln tombstone, and I ran out of talent on the thin stuff.
You aren't going to find me laughing over here. We all do what we can when we can. If it works for you, then I'm good with it. Progress is progress!. I will be continuing this build on my left2rot page if youd like to follow

What did you do for shifter linkage my I'm doing a 1955 f100 and the linkage is to far back ending up under bench seats. Thank you in advance.

Do you think those wheels would fit with R32 gtr brakes?
That is a good question. This car has the 4 piston brakes up front that are the same as the z32. I assume yes, but I can't say for sure. If you have the radius I would able to measure for you
OMG that makes sense, the port fork truck did my R34 same way, Now it makes sense why my return nozzle in fuel tank cracked. They actually pressed tank into floor pan / body causing a fuel leak ( small hairline crack in white vinyl pressed return fuel nozzle top of fuel tank under rear passenger rear seat pan ) when floor opened up it has ZERO clearance between floor pan and top of tank. I feel your frustration/pain. Great Vid
They have no care for the freight. I had a crimped fuel line section from it also. When i replumg the fuel system, I will replace and re mount everything. Good luck with the R34 and congrats!
what are the spec are the rims and tire size?
The specs on the wheels and tires are 17x9 +22 and 245/40

@carmotive3741 That's awesome. I hope it works out for you. I am very happy with my setup. I recently brought the rear tires in 1/2 inch with gktech lower control arms and voodoo13 upper arms. You will find that on some gts-ts when lowered will have one wheel poke out more than the other.
How much do you pay for insurance? I got a quote from Hagerdy and they quoted me 500 a month which I think is insanely expensive and I'm not driving the car no more than 4,000 miles a year
@carmotive3741 my car is tagged as an antique and it isn't any more expensive than my daily drivers. I need to look up what i soend but it is with my regular insurance company. Less than 200 for sure.

He should have sprayed the primer on BOTH inner and outer Before applying color, probably got primer over spray on the inside of wheels which were already painted...oops.
You did watch the video right? Primer was sprayed on both sides of the wheel. So was paint.........
@@argonandmustard5117 .... yes I watched the whole video, you primered AND top coated the inside then premiered the wheel face and top coated. What I'm saying is you should have premiered BOTH inner and face of wheel first the top coated BOTH inner and face.
@@harryberry474 I see what your trying to say and your correct. Honestly there isnt much overspray on the inside. This was done as a temporary measure until the new wheels got purchased. If i wanted a professional finish i could have just had them powdercoated or done by a shop.
Pinch welds are in similar shape on my 93 Australian GTST
They are very weak. Im honestly surprised with it. I have notice in the lift tho it doesnt flex as much.
And where those motor mounts the same length as the other side after they were cut to fit the one side
Not sure i will have to measure. I have the crank bolt and tail shaft of the trans centered between the frame rails. And i hope the mounts hold since they are upside down. They are since boxed and fully welded.
Those motor mounts go the other way you have the curve facing down they should be facing up

I do not have any information the specifics anymore. I can look around from when i ordered parts and try to provide some information. I havesonce sold the bike to a collector and dont have anything left.

Do the rpf1's 17"x9 have a smaller offset then 22mm? Or should I just add some camber and roll the fenders
I think there is a 15 offset but it changes the face. You will have to look at the specs on the website. I do have some poke out but a fender roll and some camber is in the plans for me.
Hey, you said you tried the +45’s and they hit the calliper, any reason you went all the way down to the +22 and didn’t go with the +35, I’m looking at a set of these wheels 17x9 +35 for my gtst and am having the same issue you had, not a tone of fitment info of the gtst’s as compared to gtr’s
I cant remember exsactly i will have to re research everything what i do remeber is that i had to get the dealer to contact his enkei rep to confirm that the mounting flange was thickened. The rpf1s have 2 different face types also which swayed my decision

This is a great build! The owner @teamdeuces on instagramhas brought this car a long way. It is running the D2 air ride with the airlift performance management unit and @squaretank tanks.

I am considering removing the tensions rods on my S15 Silvia, the left hand side bush is partially cracked and leaking a substance that appears to be a thin grease. I initially believed this grease was coming from some elsewhere like the AC or the turbo.
I had the same thing happening with mine. This was a pretty stalrsight forward up grade. A must in my opinion. I tracked the car after this upgrade at a local road course and had no issues.
Man trying to fabricate stuff like this is time consuming seems like it should only take few hours b4 you know it youre days into it.. nice job looks clean.
Yes sir . Every time it starts out "that should only take a day".... 3 weekends later.... "whew that was a long day " thanks for the appreciation. It is very reqarding tho.

Want to sell gtst bumper?
I have not considered selling it. It is one of those parts that " I might need one day " . I paid way to much for the GTR bumper and if i ever sell the car i may switch it back to the gts bumper. Shoot me an offer on private message through Instagram and I will consider it.

Need to ask you a question, why did you cut the firewall to install the motor? I see others that did not with a Coyote install…
The back of the motor was really close to the fire wall. To install the engine I didn't 100% need to cut it out but because I am running the MT82 transmission I had to cut the floor and lower half of the firewall. With the firewall in the stock location you have about half of an inch clearance between the sensors on the back of the heads and the firewall.

Thank you. There are supports that go inside the truck which spread the load of the wind to the inner structure instead of relying on the sheet metal. Be sure to find those if you can. The ones i have are fiberglass but the wing is oem.

I recently got a 1979 750 that has been parked sense 1993. 935 miles on it. Previous owner tried to get it running by rebuilding the carbs. He told me he might of gotten the jets wrong. The coilovers are what come with the 4 kink kit and they also allow for adjustment in the rebound and height.
Yeah I had to put wheel spacers on my fronts on my gtst. Do you have gk tech tension rods and control arms? My 18 inch rims are rubbing and Idk how to mess with the caster that much
I have the adjustable upper control arms and plan on getting tension rods and everything for the rear. I wamted to go with 18s but was worried they weren't going to fit. What wheels did you go with?
@@argonandmustard5117 I went with some enkeis but I got them off Facebook market with no information. Still got my oem 16s in the front right now gonna adjust caster soon. Could you make a video showing how to jack the car up because I’ve been using the crossmembers but have no where to put the jack stands. I’ve seen some people use wood between the stand and box frame just curious how you do it.
I cam do that no worries. I have some new bushings coming in for the front tension rods. I plan to make a video on replacing those. In the video i will jack the car up and place the stands for you to see. I have an issue jacking the car in the normal locations because they are folded over. I will add it in the video also. I jack the car up at the cross member and rear diff. In a pinch i use the tow hooks.

Thanks man. It has been a lot of work and im sure it will be worth it. I still have a long way to go. I picked up a 1966 f100 and took some time to get that roadworthy so i can teach my wife how to drive a manual. It is on my other page if you interested. But now that i have that almost wrapped up i will be back on this truck and posting on the other page.

Adriank81. Yes it has. they have been painted almost 6 months without any issues and plenty of wheel cleaner put on them.
