I have friends from Cree nation and they talk about and try to incorporate their traditions into their everyday lives. I can't help but imagine how their traditions would have been like pre-colonization. How in tune their communities were with nature and with spirits. There is something powerful and almost hypnotic about their stories and culture.

Enjoyed this so much, living by the Qualla boundary of Eastern Band Cherokee in NC I am so glad they offer community educational events to share knowledge and build community. Nothing like the energy felt during the drumming and singing during the powwows, incredibly powerful.

I worry about things like this and ayahuasca ceremonies and many other native ceremonies getting into the hands of the masses bec they are bound to get eroded, lose their magic, their mystery and meaning and just like everything else, they get turned into something to generate profits, cut corners, etc (you know the story). So, I totally get it and understand why some are protective of their traditions, for it is a part of their identity, their history, their lineage. ❤🙏🏽❤️

Thought I was a fan of Bobby Kennedy before now I am For Sure! Native people have been on my heart & mind for the past decade. I live in Oklahoma & often think of the land my family lives on & the annihilation that took place of a people, culture, lifestyle. Im in my 30s now, through self teaching not school of course, realized the gravity of destruction colonialism caused. I think of this one picture of a man standing by a hill of buffalo and u can barely see him. Its disgusting. I want be part of a solution. Not sure how. My best friend's older brother, who is native American got into drugs.. had no direction and I think it's such an atrocity that not only genocide took place but there are Still those systems in place to still keep people stuck. Reform. We need a revolution, unity, a national spiritual awakening. If we can adapt or raise up even the indigenous people ancient believes in traditions, become one more with nature and the creator so many people will become full instead of empty, lost, and directionless. Bobby Kennedy! Im praying for continued healing over his voice so he can speak loudly & unhindered for people & causes he cares for. My kids have their role numbers from their grandpa. May their ancestors guide their steps. My hope is that native people get to know themselves & we get to know more of the culture!
