I played around a bit with that in my later years of owning it, unfortunately last october i was rear ended on the freeway and pushed into the back of another car and it totaled my celica. I had just installed a whole clutch kit and everything too. I have a ‘78 celica thats manual swapped and RWD, and a ‘85 4runner i plan on manual swapping, all fun to slide around in. the car i got to replace this as my daily is an ‘07 avalon, more practical but obviously not as fun. I plan on posting more videos of me getting sideways at spots like this again. thanks for your comment!

in that video its just a muffler delete and i think it was the perfect tone and sound level, i put on a header last year and now its a little too loud and droney. the header i got deletes the primary cat. these things sound really good with just a muffler delete.

yea man its a 22RE from a 90s pickup i swapped in, and the original 20r head machined to fit, its a popular high compression build. gets a little more revs out of these truck engines. i like em though they sound great and are such fun little engines. super simple to work on. i just got it all put back together again after doing some work, got it cranking but it needs a little more work before i can drive her again.

didnt take it on the road or anything but i have driven one on the road with a muffle delete and it doesnt drone. lexus designed the exhaust to be very quiet so the 2 cats and resonator keep it pretty quiet. but with the delete it has a more raspy tone, little more aggresive and it can get little pops, but at idle its still nice and quiet.
