Garden Island Diving / Snorkelling

Just bit of snorkelling on the Western Side of Green Island. The reefs there are hard to get to from boat and as such are really untouched.
Blue Manna Crabbing 101 with Draggin Lady Square Crab nets.

This is how I was taught by the crabbing genius at Draggin Lady crab nets. Of course there are many other ways to do it, but I like this way as it is simple and low fuss and most importantly, it works.
Perth Lawn Heatwave Tips
zhlédnutí 174Před 2 lety
Sometimes just one extra application of water before a heatwave will stop many weeks if not months of catchup watering to return the grass to good condition. Don't over do it, the soil can only hold a certain fixed amount of water, but given that a Distribution Uniformity (DU) as low as 65% is considered more than acceptable by the sprinkler designers, you are going to have to work to the worst...

Replacing the internal anodes on a Yamaha F60 outboard
zhlédnutí 18KPřed 3 lety
Replacing the anodes inside the block on a Yamaha F60, the F50 will be exactly the same as its just a de-rated F60 and I think the F70 won't be much different as they are all part of the same family of outboards. There is one for each cylinder plus an extra one for the water jacket, making 5 in total.
Sudden Dead Spot in a Lawn (Perth Summer)
zhlédnutí 58Před 3 lety
Don't assume that a dead patch is always African Black Beetle caused, it almost never is ! In this case the soil allowed rapid water penetration so I knew it was not dry patch, the most common cause of sudden lawn death in Perth. I ran the sprinklers and all seemed good until I noticed that the overhanging vegetation from the nearby bushes was to blame by blocking the sprinklers throw.
Floratine Mid Winter Update, with Floratine Propel
zhlédnutí 147Před 4 lety
Really impressed with the Floratine Propel, it has kept a high traffic, normally waterlogged area nice and dry and free from that soggy black sludge that can develop in those situations. We had one months worth of rain in one day and it just drained away ! I had a month off from both the foliar and soil based fertiliser sprays, thinking nothing would change in the cold wet months, this was a mi...

The onset of really cold and wet weather this month, has highlighted that the foliar products continue to work but soil based products are less effective. Still a really great colour this month.

Floratine Fail
zhlédnutí 180Před 4 lety
Although the soil based products are listed together, you cant mix them up in the hortex as they coagulate. Mixing with 3 Litres of water of 150 square meters in the foliar sprayer solved that problem !

Is this garden island at Rockingham, Perth?
Yes
Hello, I have a problem. I started to change the anodes of my yamaha F60 four stroke 2005 engine and of the 5 4 they broke, removing them from how bad they were and the part of the anode that goes into the engine the pieces remained inside and I have no way to remove them since They fell inside and cannot be seen. What I can do ? It's no problem that they stay inside, does it affect the engine?
If it blocks a galley, your stuffed. Try to flush out with water or compressed air from alternate directions.
@damodoesall6240 Ok thanks if it doesn't work would I have to remove the block cover?
Thanks for the video. I didn't even know there were internal anodes until I viewed your video. My friends were equally shocked. I have a 50HP motor that has always been run in fresh (unsalted) water in Michigan, USA. Do the anodes wear in fresh water? The motor has almost 400 hours. When I pull them if they are OK, can I stick it back in? Am I being foolishly cheap by attempting to do so?
Yes, freshwater will last but not forever. I would not re use them unless they are in very good condition, they just go crumbly and then block the passages inside the head thus blocking cooling water flow.
Hello there! I've got a crankcase cylinder anode for a 50hp yamaha outboard. Do you have a video or tips on replacing those? P/n: 6G8-11325-00.
I’ll have to try this soon 👍
Gday mate thought i would pass this on to you but i have found there i a anode under the plastic cowling in the mid section on my 2021 40ho it is the same as yours a pencil anode same seal same lock washer ect might pay to have a look and see if your has one there as well all the best .
Yes, there is always the extra one to protect the block.
day mate you said the bottom anode was bad and it broke of how did you get it out ?
Pointy curved pliers, for the big bit, small hose taped to a vacuum cleaner nozzle for the crumbs.
@@damodoesall6240 thanks mate .
@@damodoesall6240 Gday mate just got the new motor home and i had tolook at the internal anodes ,well they are nothing like on your engine there a weird little thing held to the bole by a screw which i presume goes into the bolt ,i can see issues coming with this design as it is only a philips head screw got 4 of them saw something that looked like it on ebay and they want 16 dollars each for them and i dont even know if they are the correct ones ,no big rubber gasket just a small oring hmm is yamaha cheapn out?
@@damodoesall6240 Hi mate the anodes on the 40hp are different to yours ,they are really small and have a screw going through the anode into the bolt with a o ring on the bolt to seal it ( can see corossion problems already) ,from megazip schematics it seems these have been used for a long time lucky i didnt buy pencil anodes like yours .
gday mate i am just about to purchase my first 4 stroke yamaha 40hp this is a good video to learn from ,i know you can get external anodes aftermarket but not to many sell internal ones ,just trying to learn about as much as i can before i get this new engine soi have got some idea only had two strokes before
Yeah, I use almost all genuine parts. I have found the Penrite10W-30 marine oil and the Ryco Z436 oil filter to work perfectly as well. Hint, try eBay for massive savings on genuine parts !!
@@damodoesall6240 I wish i had known the ryco number about a week ago just ordered 2 yamaha filters but got them at a good price i use penrite oil in all my vehicles im the penrite poster boy support an australian company , my twostroke my bike and my car have all the greases just bought 2 new cartriges of marine grease for the gun , seen anodes on a genuine site but the air freight is a killer from japan .
Big fella, Awesome video, more than likely not still reading comments but how often should you apply a product like knife plus?
I use it about monthly, but every 14 days would keep the colour more even. Any liquid product is always going to be a bit here today and gone tomorrow, as thats the nature of the beast.
love u damo 💕
Brilliant. Great videos. Would be good to see a vid on belt changes, such as clutch drive belt
Are you still using any of the Floratine products?
Yes, the Kinfe plus is the best, but the rest have been very hard to find in this country after COVID related problems.
@@damodoesall6240 I've only used the Knife Plus, but only once, and I think that I mixed it wrong. Next time I try I'll be mixing 50ml with 3 litres of water to cover 100sqm. Does that sound right to you?
@@TroyDegarnham 50-100 ml per 100 sqm, I use 2 L water per 100 sqm , and that allows for a double coat at 90 degrees apart.
How many hours had that done since the anodes were last done?
100 hours and 10 years, the previous owner did not use the boat much
What song ?
Thanks!!!
What happens if one breaks and is inside
It blocks the passage way and your engine could overheat. Best to try and find it and remove it.
Thank you for the tutorial. I have the F70 yamaha; I'm pretty sure there is also 4 internal anodes. Do you think that is true? again, thank you
There are normally one per cylinder and one extra in the main gallery, easy way is to look for those special clips over the anodes on the side of the motor.
I need to get my old man some of those nets! I had a fella in mandurah few years back make me some big round ones. Where do you find those nets mate?
The guy that makes the round ones seems to have stopped. A new guy is among the square ones, after the original guy stopped.. If you want chinese made round nets, crackpots or custom networks sell those as "Bunbury Specials"
@@damodoesall6240 nice one mate, i'll track em down👍👍

Only one. but it was just size.
Great video - thanks ! Do you know if a 1.1m draft will go through this entrance at low tide? The charts I saw indicates yes, but are not very accurate for this area - just want to check before heading out there :)
I would say yes but with great care, the occasional lump is present that may jut up.
Thank you for sharing this video. Cheers 👍
Great video, just put santa anna in, interested to see how it turns out
Coming soon!
Looking pretty good mate
Cheers, its even better now !
thanks for posting - need to do this on my f60 asap!

Have the hound dog aerator cut the original tynes off and put the real tynes on works much better no more clogs
Thats the go!
Were did you buy your manual aerator please text me what store campany
Trident mowers, google them
👍 Where to buy it? How much USD?
Trident mowers
very interesting!
I think so too!
Love your video. Unfortunately I cannot find the Trident aerator here in the states. The aerator I have is sturdy but clogs like the drain at a Chinese restaurant. eBay wants $71 US to ship to the states. Do you have any suggestions? I love the Trident design. Would love to get one. Thank you 😎
If you are good at welding, you can buy the tines loose from the tine supplier and make one yourself, the postage would be cheaper.
@@damodoesall6240 unfortunately I am the last person in the world you want welding. I wish someone would come up with a similar design here in the states. Anybody want to start a business?
I am trying to get any type in the EU, which apparently never heard of core aeration, lawn leveling or detaching...
@blue jay mine clogs too and it’s soooooo frustrating 😡😡😡😡😡
@@darodes haven’t looked recently but the best design from England was available in the states. The design forces the plugs out automatically. How hard is it to convert to a groomer? Could you easily convert back if you wanted?

How do you tighten the reel ?
Use an 18mm spanner on the two adjusting nuts, there is a set each side.
Thanks for the video - very useful - much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
I think the Trident looks good, do you know if it is shipped to Sweden? Or if there is somewhere else where I can purchase it?
Ask Trident Mowers
Great video Damo, we would love a spring renovation video. Thanks

Which one did you find better the trident version or the other
I found the trident better than the other
Hi, I also have a Scott Bonnar 45 to convert to a groomer. I just don't know if the shaft you can buy at Trident Mowers is compatible with blades from dynablade? www.tridentlawnmowers.com.au/product-page/reel-shaft have you also used this shaft? have you also used this shaft?www.turfaddict.com/3-64-1-2mm-dynablade-for-toro-john-deere-etc.html#product-details-tab-specification have you also used this blade? thanks
Usually they are all the same hexagonal shaft, so most blades will fit, double check the size with lincoln, he has a Dynablade copy, but does not advertise it, best to go and see him on a weekend.
@@damodoesall6240 Hi, do your blades fit perfectly on the shaft? or a little slack? The shaft would be 1 inch and the blade 1,140 inch?!
