Word to the wise: That little window screen will not keep out raccoons. I suggest changing out the window from that awning type to a single hung window, and stapling 1 inch hardware cloth on the outside. The window on our hen housewindow is 9 feet off the ground, and a racoon (or possum, perhaps) broke through a screen like that and killed a third of our flock.

Well, my grandparents on mom’s side live until 97 and 107, respectively. Paternal grandmother was 89. (Grandfather died before I was born in a fire). So I just turned 49 and might just now be at “midlife,” Good Lord Willing and the creek don’t rise, as my paternal grandmother like to say ❤❤

Very misleading statistic. Should be using median life expectancy which is 80. Median means that half the population lives past that age. Mean life expectancy is overly sensitive to infant mortality.

Hey! Just wanted to say that it's a white winged dove, not a mourning dove. A few commenters are saying its a mourning dove. 😅😅 You can tell because it has a red iris and a faint blue streak around its eyes, as well as a white line on its wings :)
