Well, is the thought process any different than any other brand? I know HD owners ask for the same stuff over and over again and don't get it. I do think BRP should spend more time with quality. I'm not happy that I'm having a suspension issue with my new 2023 already after 8500 miles...Really? And I am not one to purchase new vehicles...TommyG and I have been married for 38 years and my new Spyder is our 4th new vehicle in that time period. I will think long and hard about purchasing new again...I got a good deal on it with a decent interest rate and that is why I purchased new. The Canyon? Well...not even sure what to say, BUT I would love to give it a real test ride...Yeah, Can-Am, I'll take it through the Yukon and let you know how it really performs...

Not just little dirt roads, there are huge long gravel roads to Labrador (well mostly paved now), and up to Prudeau Bay. Not to mention forest access roads all over the place like spider webs across N. America. Yes it's belt drive but think the belt is guarded from stones, though hard to see how you'd keep them all out, maybe it's designed to absolutely prevent that possibility. Shaft drive would be nice but probably much more expensive on an already expensive bike and then you can't change gearing. I hated the looks initially but it very quickly grew on me and if I didn't currently want 2 wheelers, I'd buy one of them with the SmartShox perhaps if I got old or couldn't hold a bike up any more. It's not meant for trails I'm sure but more for gravel roads, long ones and lots of them, or tamer twin track trails and with 9" of rear travel (10" up front), that single rear wheel would hit stuff but so what.........a little bumpier. The suspension will soak it up, that's more than a KTM 990 Adventure has for suspension travel and quite impressive, much more than I'd expect in a trike like this. Power is 96 ft-lb and the 115 hp is plenty I think, I own an F3 and that's lots of power, though more is always better still I guess. 96 ft-lb is a lot of torque and only the 1290 KTM and 1300 or 1200 BMW make more (100 or 110?). They''re lighter but still. The big advantage is the LinQ system and great stability when loaded down with so much stuff for camping or fishing and what not. So much potential and I disagree with you and think the future is bright for this machine. I"m pretty excited that some day even 10 years from now or 20 I may be on one. I won't trade in my 2 wheeler for one but would understand if someone did (other than missing the counter steering and leaning and lighter weight). .

Hey bud! I just found your channel. I am sorry to hear of your turmoil over the past few months. I am 4 years out of a divorce from a 30 year marriage. The hardest thing wasn't losing the husband, it was losing the idea of having someone to grow old with and not having to face life challenges alone. I am just getting into 3-wheel motorcycling as a way to live my best life. I took the MSF course and got my endorsement last month. I am trying to buy a 2021 Spyder. I need the "throttle therapy" outlet to deal with life which can be overwhelming at times. Good luck to you, keep putting out videos you are a positive influence in the 3-wheeled community. One question for you though. Why did you get a Ryker to replace the Spyder, instead of another Spyder? My main reason for the Spyder instead of the Ryker is the power steering. We used Rykers in class and I was concerned that my long term ability to manhandle it at slow speeds would become challenging. Your thoughts?

I ride my Ryker rally on lots of mountain dirt roads (sangre de Cristo mountains, New Mexico) . I would never take that belt drive up some of these forest roads up here way to much dust. I told Can-Am and they told me that it's well protected but I would never trade a shaft drive for that

3 wheels & offroad is a disaster waiting to happen. Even a paved road can be a challenge with obstacles in the way that you can’t go around or straddle.

Read somewhere that it comes with an enclosed self oiling chain with an automatic tensioner. I have seen pictures of a Canyon with an enclosed final drive. I can’t seem to find that now.

These are entry level disposable vehicles, they're not meant to be innovative or long lasting, think Kia, especially when kia first started. it's a cheap option to get a new vehicle and thats where it ends

The fact that they dedicated literally almost 100% of their fiscal year developing the Canyon is mind boggling. It wouldn’t take much for BRP to toss the Ryker community a bone…. “Here guys, we’ve added 10-20 more hp to the Ryker platform, along with a few cosmetic updates”. Boom, happy crowd! Incredibly dumb on their part. I would be shocked to see one of these Canyons on the street, like ever. LOL😮

100 % agreed with you ..... Nothing for Ryker , Canyon for the Spyder ???? 2 electric bike with no range that is even worse. Multinational attitude - no customer responsiveness. the market for the ryker is aftermarket .........

Basically took the front fenders off the Ryker with same sized wheels and tires, looks cheaped out. My real question is if they were looking to make this more off road capable, shouldn't this be AWD? I mea when people start getting stuck in the ditches they will say the same thing.

This Canyon is made for lite trails and such for that is fine but my gripe is , did they removed the frunk? If so then is a hard pass for me

Belt = less expensive. No one is going to take this thing off road like a BMW R 1300GS adventure.

At least on the 2025 Spyders they did put a backup camera on it. I do like the much bigger touch screens on the Spyders and the F-3's. Now, on the Canyon, it looks like one of two things. 1. A mad science experiment gone wrong, or...... 2. A Spyder, F3 and a Ryker had too much to drink and got a room together. This was the outcome. Like you said, if it were going to be "Off Road", why, oh why would they put a belt drive on it instead of a shaft drive?! When they did a complete model change on the 2020 Spyders, I was glad to see that because my left knee could not bend, and then I would be forced to go with the F3 with their U-Fit design. I waited a year so they could get the bugs out of the newly designed Spyder, which I did. I've got almost 9K miles on the Spyder, (Yes, it's a 2021 model but, I've been a tad busy) and I have enjoyed it.

It is because the problem IS the solution and I will buy a fully loaded Can-Am Canyon Redrock anyway!

And by the way, I said the same thing when I saw the lineup "who asked for this"??? What was the process in coming up with this new lineup? Thank you for this review. It just confirms what a lot of women are talking about in the Spyder groups.

You nailed! Own the Spyder f3T and based on the opinion of ladies in the spider groups, the consensus is pretty much the same. Everything is just meh! I would love to see in a more aggressive style on the spiders... Beefier...badass... Something that begs to separate me from my money. But they can't bring themselves to do it. Now, what I find interesting is HD has a Three-Wheel Spyder type in their vault, at their museum In Wisconsin. I hear the only reason they never released it was because they didn't want to compete with their three-wheel trikes. Can-Am better hope they keep that bike as a museum piece and never release it or update it for production. Because with HD marketing and customer base... Not to mention all the merchandise that they offer, as far as clothing. And the riding challenges where riders get coins per state they ride through.... And don't get me started on how they lay out the red carpet for their content creators who are just average Riders, not celebrities... They would have a lot of women jumping ship. He was so right. They do not listen to their consumers at all. You cannot keep changing colors and thinking that's going to suffice the consumer.

I would rather buy a ATV or a side by side with the amount of money they are asking for the Canyon.

We sell a good bit off Adv bikes and SxS vehicles around here. Talking to one of the dealers the SxS are actually legal to ride on some of the roads in West Virginia. Like you said for most people off roading they’re gonna choose to go with two wheels or four, being in those one or two of tire tracts. The Canyon is like the red headed step child on the types of roads like that. If it cost that much, I could get me a descent ADV bike for half the cost, and bank the other half in savings for adventure trips many years out for the cost of the Canyon.
