My Grandfather, Lyle Field, was the bridge tender at Jewfish Creek for many years. He and my Grandmother lived in the house at the end of the bridge on the south west corner. My family lived in Homestead so we visited them at Jewfish Creek very often and knew it well. My grandfather let us kids raise and lower the bridge a few times, with him supervising of course. I am sorry to see the draw bridge go but I guess that is progress. I have many memories of Jewfish Creek.

Great story Great guy telling it Stop being so nervous though

  • @christopherthewreckerthats2295

First off wreckers did use false lights lure the ship on the rocks loot the cargo strip the ship.if some one is salvaging the wreck its not wrecking.a wreck must be on rocks or beached and looted that's wrecking. It's the wreckers code it does excist.like smuggling, wrecking and pirating.I know everything about wrecking from a reincarnated wrecker and we did use false lights it's because we never got court that's why people say it never excited us wreckers a are better then the pirate a and smugglers. Tell are story properly

Thank you for this informative video! I have been so fascinated with Indian Key and all of it's intriguing history, it's almost like I can't read enough or hear enough about it! Can't wait to visit in June and see that replica! I'm a huge history buff and I just get mesmerized with all of the Keys history. We love the Florida Keys!

  • @christopherthewreckerthats2295

Like I said to a lot of people the reason why they is not a lot of evidence of us wreckers using false lights is because we did not get cougt. We did use false lights we did lure the sailors and the ships on to the rocks and plounder and loot the ships. And then we sell make profit out of it. What you got to remember is there is codes of being a wrecker just like pirates and smugglers. If a ship is a float its not wrecking its pirating. Every wrecker round the world know each other. Just like the pirates did. I know what I'm talking about I was there 1780 to 1820 i know everything about wrecking. as We used to say in the day once a wrecker way's a wrecker die a wrecker. From a reincarnated wrecker aka the pissed wrecker

What filtration tech do you guys run behind the scenes to keep water quality up? Ozone, UV, etc? Can you maybe make a video of your filtration setup so people can learn how the big guys do it?

Jill, Erin, Brad, et al...you guys continue to do such an amazing job! -- especially through these COVID-challenging times -- and, as I said to Erin earlier today, kudos to you for continuing to offer such compelling programming that bonds our community while persisting through the giant task of moving into a virtual realm. We get so much value from our membership. Keep it going! [And, what a terrific love story for everyone to appreciate!]
