Hi...the guy that built them had a major stroke. Not sure if he's still alive. Last time I talked to his wife they were on I believe Vancouver island...I think. It's been a while. Send me your email. This one is a 1994...I've never been able to get it to start or my 1988 vk540 at 40 below without heat. Thought it might be the oil. Tried several different brands...nada. the best oil seems to be the Lucas synthetic as it will start at 3 below now. Glad yours doesn't have this problem ...kind of a pain as I need my machine every day for six months...mind you it was only a week where it didnt start easily this year. Other than this these are one helluva work machine. Thanks for the chat.
It won't start if it don't turn over the problem is the compression when it's very cold take out one plug turn it over get her losin up put back plug she should start way better
It's not the compression ...checked...both cylinders 115. Besides it would turn over easy with low compression...notice it is super hard to turn over.
@@flee4357 He's saying to pull the plugs and crank it for awhile without compression to break up the gooey oil stuck to the rings and bearings then put the plugs back in. They will frequently start better due to the faster cranking speed after you do that. I've had to do it in interior Alaska from time to time.
