What did your malfunction look like? Was the nose hung on the feed ramp or was it tipped up high into the chamber? With Tula zinc plated steel I get nose tipped up failures. I wonder if COAL can affect things too as this is a shorter RN than others I've shot that have no problems. I've also suspected that the more pronounced case bulge from bullet seating might be the culprit with this ammo.

Mine hates Underwood Xtreme Defenders, which is unfortunate because its a very effective .380 round.

I’ve had issues in some of my other pistols with the flat noise. Not a deal breaker for me. Won’t buy flat noise ammo for that reason.

Completely different guns, but the 2.0 has better ergonomics.

Not ready for self defense. I'll wait for the 3.0.

Just got my BG 2.0, ran 100 rounds of the Winchester flat nose with no issues. I'll keep this ramp issue in mind should I start to see failures. Winchester (Olin) makes all Browning ammo so good chance they are the same or extremely similar

Man that sucks. The Hellcat models have a double feed ramp which honestly equats to increased reliability with a variety of bullet dimensions/ lengths. S&W has a spotty reputation with their QC. I will try to be nice and admit that it is a new platform that will need some work. I hope you get things figured out!!

I purchased 2 on the same day. One runs great. The other jams so badly that I have to press the end of the slide against the range table to get the round to eject. It's been at S&W for over a month.

If it won't feed flat nose, will it feed 90gr xtp?

Will you try the same test with the EZ 380 ???

I keep missing my chance to get to a range so I still haven't gotten to test mine, mine does have that little ridge, if I keep having feeding issues after a couple hundred rounds I might polish the feed ramp.

Mine had the rear sight visibly proud of the dovetail to the left. Tapped it flush and got it shooting straight immediately.

Out of 100 flat nose 6 fail to feed. Out of 75 Hornaday critical defense 4. It's that damn split ramp.

I’ve been using Winchester flat nose white box 380 auto fmj. I’m at 700 rounds plus and have not had a single FTF or ammo failure. Tried just 20 rounds of Underwood XD-Platinum in both 10 and 12 mags. Had substantial FTF in both mags. I did polish my feeds and the next twenty ran better by still had at least one FTF each mag. BTW: I’ve been using primarily my 10 round mag because that’s the one I plan to EDC).

I've had failures to feed with 380 flat nosed ammo also, in both of my 380's. As a result, I simply don't buy them anymore. Simple as that.

I have the same problem with flat point ammo in my Glock 42 and Sig P365 380.

I still have concerns that a two piece feed ramp on a small self defense pistol may cause feed problems at an embarrassing moment.

My 2.0 shoots flat nosed ammo just fine as well. I have not found anything so far that it won’t shoot reliably

Winchester makes all Browning ammunition. (Same Company owns both) Cabela's ammo is mostly made by Winchester also.

In my state CCL max training distance is 10 yards. Beyond that its up to judge or jury to determine the threat to you.

Sig P238HD is the 🐐....smooth as butter 🧈 and will last several generations...definitely heirloom quality and give a pride of ownership unlike the plastic fantastics....

Have had problems with Fiocchi in my Ruger security 380 and my Bersa Plus 380. I have used 9mm Fiocchi with one problem. Wished I had not bought 2 cases of 380 Fiocchi when it went on sale.

Its unfortunate that the flat point doesn't feed well because flat point is a better stopper than round nose...it transfers energy better...shoots straigter through a target and doesn't deflect as much....and will shatter and penetrate bone better than round nose

The ejector is the disconnect lever, no need to dry fire the weapon. It’s in the manual.

Thanks for the content very well done. I think the underwood ammo is a no brainer in 380. Most consistent ammo assuming your gun likes it. If not just find a flat nose FMJ and call it a day. The hydra-Shock's are fine but it's a lot of money for a round that may just end up being a FMJ if it clogs up. Not to mention they are always out of stock.

I have three .380 pistols, a Bersa Thunder, Ruger LCP and a Ruger Security .380. The Bersa dosen't like Sellier and Bellot and Fiocchi.The Security .380 shoots everything as does the LCP. I tend to stick with PMC 90 grain since all three guns like it.

"Finite special Effects budgets"... that's a good one! I am a 380 fanboy, and at one point I had 9 .380 handguns and was shooting them regularly and it was indeed a bit costly. AMMOSEEK has helped me a great deal in finding practice ammo at a price I wanted/ was willing to pay. Currently, I am down to 3 .380 pistols and with my stock pile of .380 ammo, I am sitting fat dumb & happy, and now only replace what I shoot. I do favor the Blazer Brass 95 gr JPH when buying "off the shelf" locally. Have not tried the aluminum version yet, but seeing as how you seem to have good luck with it, I might pick up a couple of boxes to try! Living my best La Vida Loca here in south eastern Arizona

Had 75% failure with this ammo on a new bodyguard-2. A few hundred rounds of other ammo later it works. Great considering I had bought 1000 rounds on sale.

My Bersa Thunder really dosen't like Fiocchi .380. It shoots the PMC and Winchester FMJ's just fine.

I do practice with what I carry 1776 brand 70gr copper flat points. $16 for a box of 50.

Have you ever tried lax? I've had good luck with their 9 & last I checked 380 was within a dollar a box. You do have to buy a lot for free shipping though

You would be more accurate if you didn't ride the trigger reset. You are anticipating the click, rushing the trigger pull, and shooting left.

Im a fan of the .380 because they are smaller then 9mm so I'm into learning everything I can about understanding the 380 guns & ammo. I wear alot of shorts and sweat pants.

I EDC the bodyguard 2 using the Desantis superfly for the pocket carry. Holds well and covers the trigger plus it makes the holster look as a note pad in your pocket
