Hi rickbiessman6084, nenne das bloß nicht LARP!!! Das wäre ein riiiiiieeeesiger Fehler - beim "Viking Reenactment" kommt es auf historische Korrektheit an. Schau Dir mal die "21st Century Viking Stories" vom ersten bis zum vorerst letzten Teil an, dann wirst Du viel darüber lernen können und dann kennst Du auch schon einige, der langjährigen Anhänger der Szene. Das ist keine Fantasie, die dort praktiziert wird, das beruht überwiegend auf historisch belegten Fakten. Nur das Kämpfen ist zu einem Sport mit unterschiedlichen Regeln geworden, die man natürlich kennen muß, bevor es "in den Kampf geht". Getötet werden soll keiner - auch nicht verletzt - das ist ganz wichtig! Viel Spaß beim Anschauen der Videos - viele Stunden Lehrmaterial liegen vor Dir ;-)))))))

@@Morusmedienpool thank you so much Morusmedienpool! I have been for years and got all the proper reenactment style gear, clothes etc. and reached out to different groups like Jomsborg to make sure everything was good. I just live too far from any group to really become a regular member. :/

Hi Drewphil2724 - Die aktive Teilnahme am Fest wird sicherlich nicht klappen, denn ihr müßt zu einer eingeladenen Gruppe gehören und die bringen dann jeweils ein gewisses Kontingent an Mitgliedern mit. Ihr könnt allerdings als Zuschauer, innerhalb der Öffnungszeiten, alles anschauen, die Eintrittspreise sind erschwinglich. Das Museum hat auch Unterkünfte, die aber sicherlich schon für sehr lange Zeit ausgebucht sein werden. In Wolin und Umgebung kann man aber Zimmer buchen - in einigen Km Entfernung sicherlich und vielleicht auch eine Campingmöglichkeit ergattern, in privaten Unterkünften. Viel Glück beim Organisieren des Tripps ins Mittelalter - auch das Zuschauen ist schon ein Erlebnis!!!

As I read in the books 14 Officers und 130 men of the crew came after several hours of swimming on land at Castellastua and felt into Montenegrin captivity. However, King Nikita I praised her unparalleled bravery. Some were later able to escape, the rest were liberated by Austro-Hungarian troops during their advance in the spring of 1916. Hi there, you are right, not everything about viking reenactment comes close to the historical facts and some things may be mixed in the centuries and changed because of safty issues. These kind of events give a glimpse of imagination how history would have been and every partisipant gives a little bit of what he things is right. Thanks for your comment and greetings to you! Hi Bullski123, here is the answer to your question: lamellar is super Rare in the Viking world...72 plates of 9 different types were found at Birka, but thats all from Scandinavia.In reenactment its very over used, not because its lighter but because its better protection for what we do..and its a huge trend because people think it looks cool. Reenactment should not always be taken as realistic, in some cases yes, but in most not.
