McEnroe takes forever to serve tht the other player gets no sense of momentum. John does this to irritate and it’s why I can’t watch .

If they had just kept playing the disturbance would have ended a lot quicker. The noise affects both players equally, so it wouldn't have been unfair to continue. Nastase was reveling in his creation however, so there's no way he would have agreed to keep playing. But I think my theory is correct. Did any NBA player or referee ever hold up the game because spectators were going wild behind the backboard when the visiting team stepped up to the foul line? Doubt it.

Connors is easily my favorite player of all-time, but I have to admit that McEnroe was the better player at his peak. Jimmy was competitive at the highest level for longer than John was, though.

I always felt the ATP dropped the ball in terms of keeping fan interest by not organizing a better senior circuit. Yes, these legends tours have been around awhile, but I really think they needed to revolve around the grand slams. I KNOW there are senior events at the slams, but they werent big enough to attract many of the retired pros. Had they had more glamour, PR, and media coverage, I think we may have had a few more great years to see guys like Mac, Andre, Jimmy, etc. play.

Connors should have upgraded his racquet. It's the same one he's been using for like 10 years. McEnroe was using a far superior racquet. With that being said, McEnroe would have still won for sure even if Connors was using a more modern racquet.

Nastase’s touch and ability was incredible! I watched him play a couple of times indoors in Richmond, when I was in high school. Something that probably doesn’t seem like a big deal, but is when you’re playing against serve and volley, is the ability to hit lobs. His lobs were outrageous, his hands were exceptionally fast, and his movement was deceptively quick. So fun to watch. Great doubles player too! Saw him throw up something like seven lobs in a single point…several of which were so high they went through the rafters of the colosseum.

How much you wanna bet the judge was TOLD to blow calls to get MAC fired up and boost ratings. TENNIS always was a pansies sport anyway.
