Very cute fabrics Angela!

Love the fabrics! I used a free pattern Mari mentioned in her Sew Frugal video in March 2024. It goes all the way up to a size 12 and is super cute and easy to sew. It doesn’t have pockets included, but easy enough to add those yourself.

I’d make this pattern with a lightweight wool in anticipation of cooler weather! Certain wools are great for year-round too. I like to line my wool, too, so it would be helpful if the pattern already included that. 😂 Less thinking on my part. 😘

My Dress a Girl Around the World ambassador has a pattern we copy that is a peasant style with an elastic neckline. I use contrast fabric for the raglan short sleeve and 2 pockets. Very cute & fast. She collects dresses year-round. Love to be involved with this organization. ❤

Cute fabrics! The pink and the black is fabulous! My video for the vlogger tour is going to be quick reviews of 6 different patterns so that has been really fun! In terms of the trim, I’m using some bits of lighter fabric but I wouldn’t use a solid white bottom ruffle because I think it could get dingy quickly. I vote pink ruffles for everyone! Haha

I am using McCalls Stitch Save # 2004 copyright 1999. It is an adorable pattern and it is SO EASY to make it into a lined or even reversible dress. I wish they would bring it back into the catalogs. LOVE the pattern you are using and your fabrics are AWESOME

I've made it 4 times-out of a "silky" with a sueded poly edging and cuffs, a silky poly twill, and georgette...but after hearing you read the suggested fabrics, I think I need to dig it out and do it in a cozier fabric for the upcoming season...need to check the stash Thanks for the inspo

Good looking patterns, Angela! That skirt pattern really kicks! That might be a good one for me to try. With the right fabric, I might be able to wear it to church; we’re pretty casual. 😊

Hi Angela! Cool books! Roman numerals are a challenge for me too. I remember it some from school way back when, but it takes me a while to think it thru and I probably get it wrong 😂

I think a linen would look nice for the jacket. I agree with the commenter before me that a rayon challis would look nice for the dress. Wow, just remembering those long jackets from the 90s lol.

I suppose it depends on the view one is making. A rayon challis for the dress might be nice. 😘

I loved looking at your new/old Swiss Family Robinson book was indeed a series of classics reprints....my family had a bunch of them when I was a kid in the 60's. It might have been a subscription type thing. I think we kept ours on the shelf with their jackets on, that was so long ago!! I used to have a couple of favorite used book stores nearby that had my card and preferences on file. I would get a phone call if any Jack London, Robert Louis Stevenson (and a few others), or Modern Library Editions came into the shop. I have since downsized my books and have kept only the JL (which is pretty nearly complete) and my Alistair MacLean paperbacks (ditto). Book Nerd alert! 😁

Fabric Warehouse Direct has a poly knit crepe that is a really nice fabric. I have some in royal blue and this would be beautiful in that fabric.

Looks like a stable knit is required, so a stretch sateen would be nice too. Especially for a fancier event the shine would be nice. I would call this a cocktail dress.

Hi Angela! Your hoodie turned out so good! I love the idea of a woven hoodie cardigan. So nice that you have all of your changes on the pattern pieces so you will be all ready to go if you want to make it again and it will surely go much quicker next time. Your skirt fabric is BEAUTIFUL!!

I would fold it over only because that lovely color can be worn in a venue where youre not just casually dressed. I actually like the slightly contrasting serger thread but with it folded down you'll get a little more versatility from it? Either way is fine though.

Its more stylish and seems like it would lie more flat on your head and not have a pointy vibe from the center seam. ❤

I have some beautiful embroidered netting and this pattern. I know, I’m a rebel. I’m planning to make it as a wedding gift as a part of a honeymoon lingerie set. 😘
