Recently here in New Zealand, there has been an uptick in people converting the sb200 style sand blasting cabinets, which has resulted in a demand for some add on products to solve some of the issues that arise as a part of these conversions. Been catching up on nozzle building. I have modified the .stl of the 3d printed guns to fit larger hose barbs. I have also put together a hybrid type nozzle.       Yes it will. I have used them on multiple sandblasting cabinets. The flow is a lot better than the usual gun that comes in cheap cabinets with the trigger. Thanks for watching!

    Three cheers! Sketchyness level 8/10, creativity level 100/100. Enclose the entire cabinet in a small shed, hook up the A/C compressor for comfortable blasting in summer heat.......LOL

      @@stank9203 essentially the higher the media to water ratio the better. You really need a minimum of 10% media but ideally you want to be over 20% Improving the speed comes down to your air flow.     Hi Josh, you mention multiple times 'high' and 'low' pressure during the video - can you state what those levels mean in terms of PSI at the gun?

      @@NickBucher-k2v Hi nick, I can't really give an accurate number at the gun as I have never measured there, but at the solenoid in the air control circuit - in this case: High pressure was 80psi, and low pressure was 35psi. Thanks for watching!

      Hi Bryan, I used to, but now I am tied up with the cabinet builds. Usually it ends up being cheaper and quicker to have a local machine shop copy the jet that came with it. Other than that, all you need is a stainless m6 grub screw and a 1/2" BSP brass hose barb to suit your hose size. Thanks for watching!

    Many thanks for people like you, for posting this type of videos. Few years ago I had the same problem and mechanic told me that repair costs are 500euros aproxmatly… Found this kind of video, replaced PCV valve by myself and costs were 10euros.

    Hi Josh, do you have drawings for the stainless cabinet? I’ve set up a few a vapour blasting cabinets now using the red HAFCO cabinets but finding they are rusting out too quick. I plan to make my next one out of stainless like this one. Cheers

    Hey mate, I want to try a mix of glass bead and aluminium oxide to speed things along. Have you tried this, and if so, what mesh aluminium oxide do you use?

      Hey Simon, I responded by email but figured I would answer here too for anyone else wondering. I use AC grade glass beads (250-150 Micron) and Brown AO (125 - 106 Micron) at about a 50/50 mix. I have brown AO because that was what was in stock, but it clouds up the water very quickly. White may be better in this regard. Cheers Josh

      It can help, but it depends. If you have a 10m long 1/4" hose and you cut it down to 1m, it will have a small improvement. But if you have a 10m long 1/2" line, the difference would be practically imperceptible.

      Hi Jerry, I make these up. I have printable files on my website for the brackets. It uses rigid 500mm 12v led strips, 2 500mm led extrusion lengths, factory style plugs to suit the standard power supply. You can get the parts from Ebay/Amazon/ Aliexpress. Cheers Josh

    What volume of pump should I use for a cabinet , the size of the red one , behind you. My budget and need i think is closer to an old dish washer pump, someone is throwing out lol.

      Depends on whether you plan to run it in the cabinet or in a reservoir underneath. If you are only able to get a small pump, you don't want to have it lift too high. I usually aim at around 9000 - 18000l/h. I would recommend looking for a second hand submersible pump. You can get them pretty cheaply. You can make dishwasher pumps work, but there are a couple of restraints. The flow rate is relatively low, and they are not submersible so plumbing can be a bit more complicated.

      Hi Stephen, It depends on the setup. Usually 1/2". The smaller setups use a water solenoid with built in check valve. The larger setups use a brass 220v solenoid with a relay circuit and 12v trigger circuit. Thanks for watching!

    What is the material for vaporblasting so that it can shine? What is the soda backing used? Then how many bars is the air pressure?

      This user's glass beads. 250-150 micron. I blast at 5.5bar to clean and 2.5-3bar to polish. Thanks for watching!

    HI. Nice system! I don't know if you still use it after so many years. Perhaps such a pump resists less than an open one for dirty water. Do you have this experience or have you seen no difference?

      Hi Wayne. Personally I just leave it. Vapour blasting with glass bead closes the surface of the material and dirt doesn't stick in the same way as it would after dry blasting. Some people will protect the surface additionally with products like ACF-50, or by applying a clear coat. Cheers Josh

    Hi love the video, you mention in the video there are something to look for/avoid when choosing a pump for more commercial use. My computer is looking to start vapor blasting and we are trying to figure what components to use/buy. Main components we are struggling to figure out are gun and pump. Any information on how to go about choosing these items would be very helpful

    Have you got a good earth? I'm a powder coater. If the powder isn't sticking make sure it's earthed and you've got enough powder coming out of the gun. Regards Dean

    A press, 4 ton or better, A sturdy vise and a 24 inch pipe wrench to straighten the clamp. A propane torch to heat and loosen the rusted screw if pen. oil won't work. A 4 1/2 inch grinder and a flap disc, 120 grit. A loose wire cup wheel for the grinder. A knife edge file to clean up bad threads. No need for a blaster or any plating.
