I got "lost" on their record Icon back in 90's - True Belief was the video I saw first and I was sold! After "Host" I kinda stopped listening to Paradise Lost for a little while - didn't really get that Depeche Mode thing they had going on, but among all Paradise Lost studio records I own even that record and few decades after - it doesn't sound that bad as I thought it sounded in late 90's in middle of all death and black metal, haha!

@@j-venom616 '99 I haven't listened to anything heavier than Aerosmith. And then on a morning TV show I saw the clip “One Second”. I liked it very much. I've never heard anything like this before. I told my friend about this (he was much older than me) and he gave me the cassette of Paradise Lost 97 / Anathema 95. Now I'm here lol

@@dezer2544 That's really cool! I like to hear stories how people got into metal. Personally I got into heavy music pretty much instantly after being born. My father used to listen KISS, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Rainbow and stuff so I was listening heavy stuff before I even realised it. :)

@@j-venom616 I was born in the USSR, here we sang songs about Lenin in kindergarten. Heavy Western music was banned as propaganda. Also considering that I grew up in a very small town far from civilization. But I had an older brother, and thanks to him I met Queen, Pink Floyd and Aerosmith, but already in the 90s. He didn’t listen to anything harder, not even Helloween lol. P.S. I'm not Russian.

@@dezer2544 That's really cool - located in Finland and back in 80's and early 90's it wasn't that liberal after all, I remember first time I was listening to Obituary and Cannibal Corpse when my mother walked in to my room. She understood Iron Maiden and stuff, but that growling thing needed a bit (a lot) of explaining... 30 years afterwards I think she's somewhat "proud" of me - what I became - at least I hope so.

I really don't know any other songs from them than "Nookie" and that song only by name - my girlfriend from late 90's used to listen their, but I quite didn't get into their music. :/

Äijä on kone! Eihän tuo hirveän mutkikas ole, mutta joitain pikkujuttuja on vähän vaikea erottaa. Omat biisit vaan tahtoo viedä niin paljon aikaa päivätyön ohessa, että ei tahdo oikein keretä opettelemaan muuta.

Se on oikeastaan paras tapa opetella niin soittoa, kuin sävellystä. Samaa harrastin 90-luvulla kun kiinnosteli musahommat. Kitara vireeseen lankapuhelimen signaalilla ja sitten levyjen mukana soittelua. Varmaan 80% meni ihan päin sitä itteään, mutta tarpeeksi kauan kun hinkkasi niin alkoi oppimaan ja hiljalleen oppi itsekin tekemään biisejä. Hauskaa sinänsä, että tuostakin yli 20v ja vielä pyöritään samojen asioiden äärellä. :)

Thanks for checking out my cover! The tuning is C# standard actually. What I have been learning Testament songs, Eric really doesn't use drop tunings at all. Early records were in E-standard, The Ritual was mainly in E flat, Low was in C# standard, Demonic had songs in D standard. The Gathering (IIRC) has all songs in C# standard. :)
